Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Cusco
Your flight gets you into Cusco and a driver meets you for the transfer to your hotel in the city center. Once you're settled in and had a chance to catch your breath, around 1:00 pm you'll head out on a guided tour hitting the Temple of the Sun, Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, PucaPucara, and Tambomachay before returning by 7:00 pm. The evening is yours to rest and let your body adjust to the altitude (about 11,000 feet/3,400 meters).

Sacred Valley Community Experience
Pickup happens at 8:00 am and you're heading to the Sacred Valley. The route takes you through Chincheros and then about 20 minutes further to a local community where locals greet you with traditional music and dance. During the day you'll work in the fields, help with animals, and sit with local women learning about traditional weaving and natural dyes. Lunch is organic and prepared right there in the community, then you're back in Cusco by 4:00 pm.

Machu Picchu Full Day
This is an early start at 4:00 am for the drive to Ollantaytambo train station, about 1.5 hours away. The scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes takes roughly 4 hours and passes through some varied landscapes. Your guide meets you at the station and from there it's a 25-minute bus ride up to Machu Picchu. After a 2-hour guided tour of the site, free time is yours to explore and photograph. Later in the afternoon you head back down by bus to Aguas Calientes where you can relax or walk around the town. Late afternoon you catch the train back to Ollantaytambo and your driver takes you back to Cusco.

Rainbow Mountain Trek
Another very early pickup between 4:00 and 4:30 am for a 3-hour drive through the South Valley to Hanchipacha community for breakfast. From there it's a 15-minute drive to Quesiuno community (4,326 m/14,189 ft) where your trek to Rainbow Mountain starts. The roughly 3-hour hike takes you past alpacas and llamas, views of Ausangate Mountain, red mountain formations, and traditional houses. At the summit (5,020 m/16,466 ft) you'll have 30 minutes to an hour for photos and taking it all in. After descending for about 2 hours back to Quesiuno, you head to Hanchipacha for lunch. Then it's the drive back to Cusco where you're dropped at Regocijos Square, 2 blocks from Main Square.
