- SRShahron Williams van· August 25th, 2025Itinerary was as published. Tour guides were very attentive, knowledgeable in all three countries, although guides in Cambodia and Vietnam were not as proficient in English as the guide in Thailand. Nevertheless, all three guides were excellent. The only issue is the fact that Realistic Asia must rely on third parties in each country to execute the itinerary and not all of the third parties were good communicators, again probably a function of language proficiency. Otherwise, great trip!Show moreRealistic Asia commented on this reviewDear Shahron, Thank you very much for sharing your feedback. We’re delighted to hear that you had a great trip. - RPRobert· May 14th, 2025*Took the 18 day tour of Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia with Realistic Asia. The trip went off with a hitch, all the transportation to and from four airports was great. The tour guides were very good, but Mr. Thang from Realistic Asia was the whole reason this trip went off without a hitch. Mr. Thang helped navigate through the visa process for each country and once we landed he was in constant contact to ensure everything was done to our satisfaction. Mr. Thang answered questions quickly and was able to ensure we could enjoy our trip.* *A BIG thanks to Mr. Thang and Realistic Asia for a well organized tour.*Show moreRealistic Asia commented on this reviewDear Robert, Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience! - Leonard· February 24th, 2025We recently booked the 18-day Indochina tour with Realistic Asia, traveling through Bangkok, Siem Reap, and Vietnam (Saigon, Hoi An, and Hanoi) in early February, and it was absolutely amazing getting to know the rich cultures of Southeast Asia! Given that we booked only 3 weeks in advance, we were pleasantly surprised by how smoothly everything went. A special shoutout to our agent, Chris Tran, who was exceptional throughout the entire process. He was always in touch to make sure we were doing well, offering helpful advice on how to spend our free time without ever being pushy. His guidance really enhanced our experience and ensured we made the most of both the planned activities and our downtime. The price for the entire tour was very fair, especially considering the level of service and attention to detail we received. There was also a good balance between activities and free time, which allowed us to explore at our own pace. The activities, especially those with private guides in Thailand and Cambodia, were exceptional. Some experiences, like Halong Bay, had a bit of a mass tourism vibe, but they were still incredibly enjoyable. Even though it felt a bit crowded at times, the natural beauty of these places made it worth it. If you’re looking for a stress-free way to experience Southeast Asia, this is the way to go. You get to see all the major highlights, meet locals and fellow travelers, and enjoy amazing experiences without spending hours researching each location, booking hotels, flights, taxis and tours. It truly felt like we were on “easy mode”. Highly recommend Realistic Asia!Show moreRealistic Asia commented on this reviewDear Leonard, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! - YBYvonne· July 15th, 2024Great tour overall, wish we had longer to spend in each place but we did get a taste of where we would like to go back. The tour guides in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Siem Reap and Luang Prabang were all excellent. The one in Bangkok had a very short time with us but also was not as engaging, though nice enough. We felt more of a tour of Bangkok would have been helpful. Hotels were all great, very very good for what are listed as three star hotels though we were in premium rooms in each. A pity the pool in Bangkok has short hours, closing at 7. Location was ideal in all except Bangkok. Overall excellent value for money. We loved the cultural and historical aspects of the tours, cooking lessons, bike rides, boat rides, visits to traditional villages and to silk production project in Siem Reap. We were super lucky with the weather given the tour was in July. Hot and humid but rain mostly overnight and we were able to make the most of each location. We added on a visit to an elephant sanctuary on our free day in Bangkok and that was fantastic.Show moreRealistic Asia commented on this reviewDear Yvonne, Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience with Realistic Asia! Asked on August 20th, 2025I was wondering if you do this tour the other way around? I arrive in Hanoi on 2nd Nov in the evening, and leave Bangkok on 23rd Nov in the morning and would like to join a tour during this time.
- Realistic AsiaOperator•Written August 2025
It is possible to switch destinations according to your ideal flight schedule. This trip will start in Bangkok (BKK) and end in Hanoi (HAN). If you take flight departing from Bangkok on 23 November, please consider enjoying the beach in Krabi or Phuket from 19 November to 23 November.

Asked on July 24th, 2025Is it possible to choose a 5 star hotel instead of the 3 star? If so, where do I do that? Do I do that after I confirm the tour?
- Realistic AsiaOperator•Written July 2025
If you choose a 5-star hotel, the tour will be a private tour. I will update and advise you of the cost for 5-star accommodation after you share the date.

Cathy
Asked on July 9th, 2025Could you please clarify whether this is a group or private tour? I noticed that days 3 and 4 mention a 'private tour,' while other days state 'group tour.'
- C
Cathy
Traveler•Written July 2025I am looking for a small group with the same people. Is this possible?
- Realistic AsiaOperator•Written July 2025
Currently, we do not support tours that have groups that can join you from the beginning to the end of the trip. Each customer will have a different convenient schedule such as their duration, their travel date, or the different international flights. Therefore, it will be difficult to find someone with the same dates, the same interests as you as well as willing to share the room with you. In this package, you will join the different group tours in Vietnam and the tours in Thailand and Cambodia are private.

Asked on July 8th, 2025Are there any alternative options for people who cannot ride a bike?
- Realistic AsiaOperator•Written July 2025
On Day 10 (Mekong tour) and Day 15 (Hoa Lu - Tam Coc - Mua Cave tour), cycling is only one of many activities of those tours, you can walk or take a rest to enjoy the sightseeing, not compulsory to join the cycling activity.

Asked on May 4th, 2025Can you tell me what the 619$ local payment are for? Is there a guides tour of Bangkok and the Grand Palace (Wat Phra Chetuphon) included? Is a visit of the Mae Klong Railway Market included in the itinerary? We would be interested in visiting a elephant sanctuary. Would there be an opportunity on this trip?
- Realistic AsiaOperator•Written May 2025
The Local Payment of $700 per person covers airfare during the trip, the English-speaking guide fee, and some other local fees. You can make local payment on arrival by cash (new US$ bills), or link payment for a credit card. You will have a private tour guide in Bangkok Thailand when you have Half-Day Floating Marketing tour and a Full-day Ayutthaya. This package doesn't have Bangkok temple tour. You can visit a temple tour that costs US $127/person. Mae Klong Railway Market is not included in this package. You can visit an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai, but you would need to expand the trip by 2 more days.

Diana
Traveler•Written May 2025Is Chiang Mai the only elephant sanctuary that can be visited? We realized that an 18 day trip is too long since we want to add a couple of days at a beach resort. We would most likely have to limit the tour to 12 to 14 days. We would be considering 4* hotels.
- Realistic AsiaOperator•Written May 2025
You can visit an Elephant Sanctuary in Pattaya from Bangkok, without needing to travel to Chiang Mai. You would just need to expand one more day in Bangkok. We recommend booking soon as December is peak tourism season and services get fully booked quickly.

Asked on December 27th, 2024Are the flights to and from Vancouver BC, included in your tour price
- Realistic AsiaOperator•Written December 2024
For the international flights for arrival and departure flights, it's not included in this packages. You will book it yourself as it'll be more flexible to your availability. This tour will start in Bangkok, Thailand and end in Hanoi, Vietnam. Then you should book the international flights accordingly.

Asked on December 24th, 2024what is local payment
- Realistic AsiaOperator•Written December 2024
The local payment covers the flight tickets: Bangkok to Siem Reap, Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh, Ho Chi Minh to Danang, Danang to Hanoi, the English-speaking guide fee, and some other local fees for a wholesome experience which you pay us directly by credit card or cash. The tour in Thailand and Cambodia is private tour completely (only you, the tour guide and the driver). You will join some partial different group tour or sharing bus at each destination in Vietnam. The group in Vietnam is not the same from the beginning to the end.

During this Glimpse Of Indochina In 18 Days tour, you will join the group tours in Vietnam (group size maybe 12-14 people). The group tour is NOT that you share with the same group from the beginning till the end. Most of our tours are partial group tours in which you will have a group tour for an excursion at each place, but airport pick up and accommodation are private. The tours in Thailand and Cambodia are private tours.
