Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Skopje

    You'll arrive in Skopje and head to your hotel for a quick rest. After that, a local guide takes you through the old railway station, Mother Teresa statue, and Stone Bridge. You'll also see Daut Pasha Baths, St. Spas Church, Fortress Kale, and wander through the Old Skopje Bazaar before the afternoon opens up for your own plans. Traditional Macedonian dinner happens at 8:00 p.m.

  2. Day 2

    Skopje

    After breakfast, you'll spend the full day visiting Lake Matka and the 14th-century Monastery Church of St. Andrew. From there, head to Vodno and see the 12th-century Monastery Church of St Pantelejmon in Gorno Nerezi, which is an important Byzantine site. The day wraps up at Marko's monastery. Dinner includes live music and traditional food.

    Mavrovo

    You're heading to Mavrovo National Park today. Once settled at your accommodation and rested a bit, you'll take a five-hour tour through Bistra mountain. Dinner follows after you've returned.

  4. Day 4

    Mavrovo to Ohrid

    Breakfast first, then the drive to Ohrid takes you along the scenic River Radika route. On the way, you'll stop at the Monastery of St. Jovan Bigorski to see an 11th-century icon of St John the Baptist and one of only three carved wooden iconostases in existence. Quick stop in Vevchani for the famous springs, then continue to Ohrid. Check in and the afternoon is yours before dinner.

    Ohrid

    Starting with breakfast, the half-day tour of Ohrid begins at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius statue. You'll walk through the Lower gate and National Museum, check out the Church of St Sophia and Roman amphitheatre, then head to the Upper gate. From there, see St Clement's Church and the Icon Gallery before climbing up to Tsar Samoil's fortress. The tour finishes at Plaoshnik with a stroll through the marketplace. Dinner features traditional Macedonian cooking.

    Ohrid

    After breakfast, you'll visit the Monastery of St Naum, which has recently built inns on the grounds. Walk out to where the River Crn Drim begins its flow into the lake. The rest of the day is free to spend as you like before settling in for the night.

  7. Day 7

    Ohrid to Bitola to Skopje

    You're leaving after breakfast and crossing the scenic Galichica mountain to reach Bitola. Explore the city itself, then visit Heraclea Lyncestis, an ancient Macedonian town from the 4th century BC located about 5km away. Tour the military high school 'Kemal Ataturk' before heading back to Skopje. On the return trip, you can choose to stop at STOBU winery for wine tasting if interested.

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
