Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Taipei to Kenting

You'll kick off your Taiwan trip with a high-speed train ride down the west coast to Kenting, this laid-back beach town at the island's southern tip. Once you're settled at your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to use however you like. Jump in the water for a swim, go hiking through the area, rent a bike and ride around, or just chill on the beach. By evening, head over to Kenting Street where you can grab drinks and dinner, or try out a traditional massage if you want to unwind.

臺北市, Taipei, Taiwan (Pick up from your accommodation, 08:30 - 09:00)

    Included Activities

    • High-speed rail journey from Taipei to Kaohsiung
    • Beach activities in Kenting (swimming, hiking, biking, sunbathing)

  2. Day 2

    Kenting

After breakfast at the hotel, you'll get to know the quieter parts of this region with some leisure hiking around Hsuhai and nice views of Mudan Bay. From there, drive down to the Southern Tip of Taiwan to see the southernmost point, then take the scenic coastal route back to Kenting. The landscape here is pretty flat and you'll catch glimpses of aboriginal culture along the way. Another night in Kenting gives you time to explore more of the beach town.

Stop for lunch, then continue to Kaohsiung where you'll head to Lotus Pond to see the temples and the iconic Dragon and Tiger Pagodas. Later, you get to make traditional Taiwan cookies yourself as part of the experience. If you're up for it, there's an optional night walk at Pier-2 Art Center to wrap things up.

You'll have breakfast and then travel to Fo Guang Shan Monastery where you can walk around eight pagodas and check out the grand meditation halls, all beneath a 108-meter-high Buddha statue. After that, head to Tainan, Taiwan's ancient capital, and spend time wandering through historic sites and narrow alleyways. Visit Taiwan's oldest Confucian Temple and Wu Garden nearby. Since Tainan's got a serious food scene, plan to try some of the local dishes the city's known for.

We got to see and experience so many wonderful things during our 5-day tour. Had a great 6 day private (just 2 of us) tour of Taiwan with our guide Vincent. He was great in showing us different areas of eastern and southern Taiwan, chose some local restaurants to eat foods we would have probably never tried, took us to local landmarks and explained the local geography, history.
