- Louise· April 14th, 2025What an awesome trip! The schedule was fun and complete, but still really chill. My favorite part was the Everest Base Camp—so beautiful and epic! Big thanks to our guide, Mengbo. He knew all the cool facts about the places we visited. He also fixed any problems we had and made sure everyone had a great time. This trip was way better than I expected!Show moreTrip date: April 2025
- HHannes· May 16th, 2024The tour was great! I had a wonderful time and Tibet was spectacular. Our driver was very professional and I felt safe in the car. Lobsang was a wonderful guide with great energy and he seemed very knowledgeable and passionate. Thank you once again for helping me every step of the way, I couldn’t have asked for better assistance. I would without hesitation recommend your agency to my friends or book with you again if I go on another tour.Show moreTrip date: May 2024
- JJamesinuk· November 22nd, 2019My visit to Lhasa was complete in every way and fulfilled my thirty-year wish to see and experience Tibet. Thank you and please extend my gratitude to all those in your organization who organized my visit. Transportation was always on time and was convenient and comfortable, thanks to driver Danzen. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the accommodation to Western breakfast food was appreciated. I am especially grateful for tour guide Danzen for his detailed knowledge and careful explanations in the monasteries we visited and the Potala Palace; the fact that he is a native Tibetan and a practicing Buddhist greatly enhanced our discussions and granted me the insights I had hoped this trip would provide; his discretion, patience, and enthusiasm were exceptional. While my visit was not a spiritual quest it was not a tourist quest for photos and souvenirs, and I have returned with a deeper sense of the place and the geography that your tour provided. While I was saddened by the sight of the “modernizations” that are taking place in Lhasa, I am grateful to have seen and experienced those aspects of Tibet I have studied in books for many years. James Due to age and other commitments, I will most likely not be visiting Tibet again, but I will surely recommend your company to my friends who are considering a tour. Thank you for a wonderful tour (at a reasonable price) with attentive and knowledgeable guides.Show moreTrip date: November 2019
- LLilylucky· July 18th, 2019My sister and I booked 10 Days Lhasa EBC and Namtso Lake tour with Great Tibet Tour. We both enjoy our tour in Tibet. Our guide Dajie is very nice, patient and knowledgeable. Dajie is not only explained the Buddhist culture and Tibetan history but also very patient to answer the questions from our group. He brought us to a local countryside which is not listed in the itinerary to explore the local Tibetan lifestyle. I highly recommend Great Tibet Tour and the guide Dajie if you would like to visit Tibet.Show moreTrip date: July 2019

Asked on January 22nd, 2024We are from the Philippines. We want to experience the train ride to Lhasa. Can you also include or arrange the train booking? We will fly from Manila to Chengdu. How many stars are the hotels? Does your itinerary include meals? We are all senior citizens. Are there any health requirements for us? We prefer max of 10 days tour. We are very interested in the Tibet Camp and Kathmandu. What is the best month to travel which is not so cold for us as we live in a tropical country?
- Great Tibet TourOperator•Written January 2024
Yes, we can arrange soft sleepers for the Chengdu to Lhasa train, at a cost of USD220p.p. Here you can book 3 hotels and 4 star hotels. Our itinerary includes breakfasts provided by hotels. Yes. We provide an oxygen tank on the van for emergency use. We can arrange one more day trip for you if you prefer 10 days tour. Or just keep 9 days for leaving flexibility? In this case, you may choose the itinerary to Gyirong Port, the nearest border town to Kathmandu. We can send you off to Kathmandu. April is a good month to visit Everest Base Camp as the mountain expedition usually carries on in this month for its good weather. If possible, I suggest you choose the end of April or the beginning of May.

Asked on January 22nd, 2024Would like to travel to Tibet within your group tour. When we book the tour is it certain that it will take place? Are you able to help us book a train ticket from Xian to Lhasa as well? Do we need alpine winter cloth for the time outside?
- Great Tibet TourOperator•Written January 2024
There is a confirmed 9D group tour to EBC and Namtso on 9 April or 15 April. We can help you book the train tickets from Xián to Lhasa. In April, it's still cold at alpine places. You need to wear winter clothes.

Josephine

Asked on August 24th, 2023We have a couple of questions. Maximum age was 80 years old, my wife will be 81 by December, but is in much better shape than me at a 75-year-old. We are both able to do whatever hikes and steps are available. Hopefully there's not a problem. During the long rides were questioning whether they'll be any possibility for bathroom stops along the way. Would it be possible to stay an extra day or two before or after the tour to stay in Lhasa? We will be doing the forbidden city in Beijing and the terra-cotta warriors in Xian before we fly to Lhasa. Hopefully that is not a problem.
- Great Tibet TourOperator•Written August 2023
In winter, we don't arrange a Namtso group tour as heavy snow might block the road. As for age, it's also hard to define a certain age as the boundary of whether you are able to travel to Tibet. Altitude sickness is more likely to happen on those strong young men with muscles who need oxygen more than others. In my opinion, if possible, you may visit Tibet in October or early November, not too late. Sure. Yes, but extra cost would be produced. There's no problem at all for visiting other cities of China. Just one point, do not mention Tibet during your China visa application.
