Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu Arrival

You'll land at Tribhuvan International Airport and get picked up by your Adventure Himalayan representative. After checking into your hotel, your guide goes over what to expect from the trek ahead, so it's a good time to ask questions or voice any concerns. The rest of the day is yours to rest and get ready.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu

Today you have flexibility to explore Kathmandu on your own or join optional sightseeing. The valley has several UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Swyambhunath (Monkey Temple) if you want to check those out. Patan is worth a visit too for its arts and architecture. Later in the afternoon, you'll meet with your trekking guide to go through all your gear and make sure everything's ready to go.

    Breakfast

    Optional Activities

    • Visit Pashupatinath (famous Hindu temple and cremation ground)
    • Visit Boudhanath (massive Buddhist stupa)

  3. Day 3

    Kathmandu to Soti Khola

You'll drive from Kathmandu toward Arughat Bazaar on paved roads, then switch to a jeep heading to Soti Khola. The unpaved stretch from Dhading to Arughat Bazaar can get tricky after heavy monsoon rain, possibly meaning 3 to 4 hours on foot instead. Arughat Bazaar sits as a small market town right next to the Buri Gandaki river.

    Landmarks/POIs
    Arughat Bazaar

  4. Day 4

    Soti Khola to Machha Khola

From there the route follows the river bank where steep cliffs close in around the valley. You cross wooden bridges over the Buri Gandaki several times as the trail gets steeper, finishing at Namru village just a few kilometers from the Tibetan border.

A steep climb brings you to Samdo, a charming village with an established Tibetan refugee community and Tibet just a morning's walk away. After crossing a stream on a wooden bridge and zigzagging through forest, you reach Honsanho Gompa with open views, then continue to Sama with its Mani stones, Chortens, and hilltop Gompa.

The climb to Rui La Pass at 4,998m/16,396 ft gives beautiful distant views of Manaslu, the Hindu and Fukang glaciers. Prayer flags and a border stone mark this classic U-shaped pass between Nepal and China. You might see Yak caravans bringing goods into Nepal.

At Larkya La (5,100m/16,730 ft), four frozen lakes spread below and westerly views open to Himlung Himal, Kangurru, and Annapurna II with Manaslu rising above. The assistance and support provided by tour operator Adventure Himalayan Travels was outstanding. Owner Mr. Rana helped us throughout, from planning, preparation and customization, to greeting us at the airport and bidding us farewell at the end of our trip. The guide Rudra was outstanding as well. It was a great pleasure trekking with him. He was very sociable but knew the right balance between assisting us where necessary and keeping a distance to not be pushy or overly present, so we could have our privacy. Rudra knew the route very well and always did his best to get us the best possible accommodation at the lodges along the trek. Porter Kanza did a great job as well, carrying our luggage with a smile. Mr Rana customized the trek to Annapurna Base Camp because we decide that the “Manaslu Circuit Trek” could be too taxing for first time trekkers. Be prepared for very basic accommodation in various lodges. Apparently, there simply are no more luxurious alternatives along the ABC route. The natural beauty and scenery was stunning though. All in all, we had a great trip, can fully recommend Adventure Himalayan Travels and will definitely return to Nepal.

The Manaslu trek offers Shangri-la views of the Annapurna and Manaslu region. It takes you through a relatively off-the-beaten path, escaping the masses, and see the beautiful landscapes, snow-capped mountains, and high glacier lakes and spot the most stunning flora and fauna. The circuit passes many Nepalese and Tibetan cultural heritage sites, which gives you an authentic insight into the local Nepalese culture therefore I highly recommend this trek through Adventure Himalayan Travels.

My stop over the Manaslu was one of the best memorable and unforgettable adventure in my life. From the friendly staff to the service they provided, everything was perfect as compare to others. I was always looking forward to come this beautiful place for the new experience and I must say that I am really delightful after seeing all the things. I have always loved Nepal and it´s beauty. After experiencing, I can proudly say that Rana and the team are doing really a great job and helping to see such a beautiful place with all the difficulties.

For a guy that hasn't left the state of Texas in many years, i was very adamant about travelling in general. But after watching some documentary in you-tube and Netflix about Nepal, i started to have different perception about travelling. With some research i came across "Adventure Himalayan Travel and treks".Met Rana the correspondence via email, who was really helpful about all the question i had before travelling. I made the Trip there in April for Manaslu Circuit Trek. From my short Breath taking experience, i couldn't have found a better correspondence and group of highly experienced travel guide and porter. The company had great pre-planed accommodation for all guests and adjustable schedule for the travelers comfort. The trek was incredible, i haven't had so much fun in a long time, i am even thinking of doing some trekking here locally, and planning a trip to the state of Washington. on the last note, I recommend the Nepali tea and "Dal Bhat", which is their traditional food if anyone is going to make the trip to Nepal in the future. Thank you Rana for a great time and hope to see you guys soon.
