Beijing
After you clear customs and collect your luggage at Beijing Airport, your driver will be waiting to take you to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is open, so you can either rest up from your flight or head out and start getting a feel for the city on your own terms.

Beijing
Start your day at Tiananmen Square, then head into the Imperial Palace to walk through its halls and pavilions. Around lunch time, you'll grab a meal at a local restaurant before heading to the Temple of Heaven, an old imperial sacrificial site. This evening, catch an acrobatic show at the Red Theater.

- Day 3
Beijing
Take the cable car up to Mutianyu Great Wall and enjoy some red wine for a group toast while you're up there. After that, stop by the Olympic National Stadium (Bird's Nest) to get photos from outside, then spend time exploring the original Hutong alleys by rickshaw. You'll also visit a local family to get a sense of how people actually live in the area.

- Day 4
Beijing to Xi'an
You'll start by walking through the Summer Palace's imperial gardens with a guided tour, taking in the landscaped grounds and traditional architecture. After lunch, your driver takes you to Beijing train station where you'll board the high-speed train heading to Xi'an, a journey that runs about 4.5 to 5.5 hours. Once you arrive, your guide meets you at the station and drives you to the hotel to settle in for the evening.

- Day 5
Xi'an
This morning you'll head to the Terracotta Army to walk through three different pits filled with life-sized terracotta warriors. The Exhibition Hall of Cultural Relics gives you more context about what you're seeing, and there's a chance to stop by the home of the first person who discovered these figures. If you're interested in hands-on activities, you can make your own mini clay warrior before lunch. After that, it's off to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a massive Buddhist pagoda that's worth spending time at. By evening, you'll settle in for a Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show paired with a famous dumpling dinner, which wraps up the day nicely.

Xi'an to Shanghai
Your morning begins at City Wall Park where you'll practice Tai Chi under the instruction of a master, getting a feel for this traditional martial art. Next, you'll walk along the City Wall itself, which ranks among China's best-preserved urban defensive structures, offering views across the old city. You'll then wander through the Muslim Quarter, sampling local specialties and street food. By afternoon, you're heading to the airport for a flight to Shanghai, where your guide picks you up and drives you to your hotel.

After that, it's on to Yu Garden, a classical Chinese garden with traditional architecture and design, and you'll browse the shops and stalls at the bazaar nearby. In the afternoon, you'll take a one-hour cruise on the Huangpu River, seeing the Bund's famous skyline and riverbanks. Your guide meets you back at the hotel lobby to wrap up the day.
