Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Poreč
You'll arrive in Poreč and head to the tour office to pick up your welcome package, which includes hotel vouchers, a bicycle, maps, and a road book. After that, a minivan takes you to Buje where you'll spend the night at Casa la Parenzana, a quiet rural house located in the middle of Istria.

Buje to Umag
This morning starts with an easy downhill ride heading to the northernmost coast of the Istrian peninsula. You'll stop at Savudrija Lighthouse, which was built in 1818 as a love nest by Count Metternich. From there, you cycle south to Umag and walk through the charming coastal town with its Venetian old town, city walls, and renaissance and baroque buildings. After exploring vineyards and olive groves, you'll visit a wine cellar to try local muscat wine.

Buje area to Lovreća
You cycle through the village of Křšete and reach Brtonigla, which has XV-century churches and monasteries. The route then takes you through endless vineyards and olive groves in the Brtonigla area. You'll stop at an olive oil production facility to taste some of the best oils available. Later, you pass through the coastal villages of Dajla and Karigador on the way to Lovreća, a Venetian bishops' village by the coast, then return to your hotel through traditional Istrian villages.

Buje area to Motovun
From Buje, you cycle toward Gožnjan, a medieval hilltop town known as 'The Town of Artists' with art studios and galleries in nearly every building. Next, you continue to Oprtalj, an unchanged medieval town with Venetian palaces and narrow streets that offer beautiful views of the Istrian peninsula. You then descend to Livade, the truffle center of Istria, where you can check out the truffle shop. The day ends at Motovun, the most famous medieval hilltown of Istria, sitting in the Motovun Forest along the Mirna River valley.

Motovun to Poreč
You cycle inland toward the coast, passing by Višnjan observatory at 246m altitude, one of the 5 most famous observatories in the world. From Višnjan you'll have views of the west Istrian coast and the coastal town of Poreč. After that, you continue through Tar, a hilltop town above the sea, and Nova Vas village which has access to a famous cave. You reach Poreč by evening.

Poreč to Vrsar
Start the day by checking out the Euphrasiana, a 6th-century church and the most valuable monument in Poreč. You'll cycle to Bačva village, the highest point of this stage, where a local restaurant serves traditional dishes. Then you continue to Vrsar, a defended fortress town with commanding coastal views where you can see preserved fortification systems from the 12th century. You pass through fishing villages and touristic areas heading toward the southern part of Poreč.

Vrsar to Rovinj
After breakfast, you transfer to Kanfanar or cycle there on your own. From Kanfanar begins the flattest ride of the tour through inland Istrian villages with traditional toolhouses. You stop in Bale to see the Bembo palace, city square, and museum. Later, you continue to Rovinj, passing through the 'Palud' ornithological reserve, with an optional stop at Monkodonja, a prehistoric hilltop settlement from the Bronze Age. You arrive at Rovinj, the 'Pearl of Adriatic,' known for its iconic church and bell tower on the hill, charming old town, traditional batana boats, and fresh fish restaurants.
