Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Whitehorse

    Your guide meets you at the airport and drives you to your downtown hotel. Once you get there, the afternoon's about getting oriented to the area, checking your gear, and picking up anything else you need before heading out on the water.

  2. Days 2 - 6

    Whitehorse to Carmacks

    The canoe journey starts at Takhini Bridge, and you'll paddle toward Lake Laberge where there's a chance to fish for northern pike. From there you paddle along the rocky eastern shore through the scenic 'Thirty Mile' section, a Canadian Heritage River, with stops at the former trading post of Hootalinqua. The route continues past where the Big Salmon and Little Salmon Rivers meet, alongside towering cut banks, fireweed fields, and black spruce forest, finishing up at Carmacks.

    Carmacks

    After spending more than a week on the river, you reach Carmacks village. There's time for a proper shower and laundry at the Coal Mine Campground on the town's edge. This is your final evening with the group, and there's a last dinner together.

  4. Day 8

    Carmacks to Whitehorse

    In the morning, you head back to Whitehorse by road, which takes just under three hours. Ruby Range handles the transfer to your hotel, the airport, or wherever your next tour begins.

      We provide tent and camping gear, but not the sleeping bag and mattress. Feel free to bring whatever feels comfortable for you.

    I am looking To book as a solo traveller. On the company's own site it states I can book as a single person and be randomly allocated to a partner for accommodation. However your site will not allow me to do this. Please can you instruct how to proceed to book this option.

      as a solo traveler you can choose the option half double room/tent (shared accommodation) and we will pair you up with another solo male traveler. If you have trouble booking this option through TourRadar please ask them directly for assistance.

    • For any tour departing before February 4th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after February 4th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Ruby Range Adventure. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
    • Some departure dates and prices may vary and Ruby Range Adventure will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
    • The following cards are accepted for "Ruby Range Adventure" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
