What people love about touring Chile solo
- Epic Patagonia
Epic Patagonia was a truly amazing experience! It was so nice not having to worry about details once we arrived in Santiago. All of our transportation and lodging reservations were arranged by OneSeed. We really enjoyed the winery excursion with our group. It was a great way to meet our fellow travelers. The trek was absolutely incredible with breathtaking scenery. Our guides (Roberto Carlos and Jorge) were top-notch. We hope to take another trip with OneSeed in the future!
- Easter Island Experience 4D/3N
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and tour of Rapa Nui. The hotel was so comfortable and the staff excellent and only too happy to help. The tour guides were amazing and very knowledgeable. The only thing I'd change is to have lunch earlier on the second day - 14:30 was too late for lunch. Otherwise and excellent excursion
- Essential Patagonia
Our winter trek through Patagonia was an incredible experience! We basically had a private tour of the park, only seeing two other small groups the entire time... completely different from a summer experience. Our food, lodging, and itinerary was perfect. Our guide, Roberto, was very knowledgeable and patient when we wanted to stop and take pictures, yet he kept us on track. He planned everything perfectly as far as timing goes as the days are very short in the winter (9am-6pm). It was nice there was no wind in the winter, just cold/dry air. Our trip went very smoothly and it was clear that the logistics had been planned perfectly. I highly recommend the winter trek in Patagonia!

What's the best time of year for solo travelers to join Chile tours?
Most travelers visit Chile from December through February when summer brings stable weather and 60% of annual tour bookings. For a quieter experience with good hiking conditions try October-November or March-April. These months offer pleasant temperatures between 30-50°F in places like Torres del Paine and Puerto Natales with fewer crowds on the trails. One TourRadar traveler noted: "Going in October meant perfect weather 30-50°F temperatures minimal rain and wind compared to summer plus the trails weren't crowded."
Which regions of Chile are most recommended for solo travelers on guided tours?
Three regions stand out for solo travel: the Atacama Desert Torres del Paine National Park and the Lake District near Puerto Varas. Each area has reliable tour schedules strong safety measures and regular group departures. The Atacama Desert draws many solo travelers with social spots like Casa Beltran in Arica. A TourRadar traveler commented: "The guides were excellent at bringing the group together and I met wonderful people while exploring places like Moon Valley and the Tatio Geysers."
What is the typical single supplement cost for solo travelers on guided tours in Chile?
Single travelers usually pay 25-40% above the standard tour price for private rooms. This supplement varies based on the accommodation quality. High-end properties like The Singular Lastarria in Santiago or Casa Beltran in Arica charge around $80-120 USD extra per night for single rooms. A TourRadar traveler reported: "As a solo female traveler I couldn't have asked for a better experience - the tour company handled everything including comfortable single accommodation arrangements."
What kind of accommodation can solo travelers expect on Chile tours?
Tours typically mix 3-4 star hotels in cities with mountain refugios in national parks.
