What our customers ask about Best 3 day Tours from Kathmandu
What's the best time of year for a 3-day tour from Kathmandu?
Plan your trip between October and April when the weather is most reliable. You'll get clear skies and comfortable temperatures around 68-77°F (20-25°C). If you want to see wildlife in Chitwan National Park, come during winter (October-February) when animals are more active in the cooler weather. For the best mountain views from Nagarkot, try October or November and get up early - the morning hours give you the clearest views of the Himalayas. These months are also when most other travelers choose to visit, so book your accommodation early.
What are the most popular destinations to visit on a 3-day tour from Kathmandu?
Most travelers head to Chitwan National Park, about 109 miles from Kathmandu, where you can stay at nice places like Hotel Landmark Forest Park and go on wildlife safaris. Nagarkot is another favorite spot - you'll want to catch a sunrise there when temperatures are between 41-68°F (5-20°C). Many people also visit the old cities of Bhaktapur and Patan to see their beautiful traditional architecture and UNESCO sites. You can easily combine a couple of these places in three days.
What kind of wildlife can I expect to see on a 3-day tour from Kathmandu?
In Nepal's national parks, you might spot one-horned rhinos, Bengal tigers, sloth bears, and hundreds of bird species. One traveler told us: "We saw one horn Rhino, bears, monkeys, deer, and even a sloth bear!" Chitwan National Park alone is home to 43 types of mammals and 45 different amphibians and reptiles. If you visit Bardia National Park, you've got about a 90% chance of seeing tigers if you stay for two days.
What are the must-see cultural highlights on a 3-day tour from Kathmandu?
You won't want to miss Bhaktapur Durbar Square, especially its famous 55-window palace and Golden Gate. The ancient Changu Narayan temple from 323 AD is worth visiting, as is Lumbini - the birthplace of Buddha - with its peaceful Sacred Garden and Mayadevi Temple. One traveler told us: "The guided tour through Bhaktapur's ancient squares and temples provided incredible insights into Nepal's rich cultural heritage." You can also visit traditional villages where Newari and Tamang people live.
What kind of transportation is provided on 3-day tours from Kathmandu?
Most tours use private cars or jeeps to get you around. To reach Chitwan or Bardia, you can either drive (5-6 hours) or take a quick 25-minute flight to Bharatpur. A recent traveler noted: "All transportation was well organized with private vehicles for transfers and comfortable jeeps for safari drives." If you're doing any hiking, you'll usually drive to the trailhead and then continue on foot.
