      Lahore

      Swat Valley

      The trip from Peshawar to Mingora takes about 4 hours. Use Mingora as your base to explore the valley. Take an early morning drive to Kalam at 6,800 feet elevation since afternoon storms are common in summer. Bring warm clothes as evenings get cool at higher altitudes. Stop in Bahrain for lunch and try the local trout but skip riverside restaurants during monsoon season when water levels can rise quickly.

    • Day 1

      Islamabad Exploration

Take a 2-hour hike in Margalla Hills National Park with good walking shoes as the trails are rocky. Spend your afternoon at Lok Virsa Museum where you'll need about 2 hours to see the traditional crafts.

      Islamabad to Chitral

      Kalash Valley Experience

      An early morning 2-hour jeep ride takes you to Kalash Valley. The road isn't smooth but you'll be rewarded with incredible views.
