10 Day Mongolia Itinerary, incl. Ulgii and Altai Mountains
The challenging 10-day trek covers 16km daily across three major destinations: Olgii, Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, and Ulaanbaatar. Adventurers cross five distinct valleys, summit 4,050m Malchin Peak, and marvel at the 16km Potanin Glacier. Total costs around $2,500 including camping gear and chef-prepared meals.

- Day 1
Ulaanbaatar to Ulgii
- Days 2-3
Altai Base Camp Trek
The base camp trek is a challenging 16km journey taking about 5 hours. Local camels carry your gear but pack light. You'll reach heights of 4,050m so take it slow and drink plenty of water. On Day 3 you can climb Malchin Peak if weather allows. One traveler shared: "The pristine mountains and valleys were absolutely breathtaking, though the altitude definitely challenged us. Dauren's expertise made all the difference."

- Days 4-5
White River Valley & Tuvan Communities
- Days 6-7
Bear Valley to Khoton Lake
- Day 8
Eagle Hunter Experience
- Days 9-10

Mongolia Sagsai Eagle Festival
A fascinating 10-day route links 4 destinations from Ulaanbaatar to Altai Mountains. The Sagsai Eagle Festival takes center stage for 2 days, alongside visits to Gandantegchinlen Monastery, Altai Tavan Bogd National Park's glaciers, and stays with nomadic families in traditional gers.

10 Days in Mongolia, incl. Ulaanbaatar and Gobi Desert
A mesmerizing 10-day route connects 7 Mongolian cities, from Ulaanbaatar to Karakorum's ancient capital. Wild horses roam Hustai National Park, while a 3-4 hour trek through Yolyn Am gorge and a 290km drive across the Gobi Desert lead to sunset at Bayanzag's Flaming Hills.

- Day 1
Ulaanbaatar
- Day 2
Hustai National Park
Visit Gandan Monastery in the morning before taking a 2-hour drive to Hustai National Park. You'll have a chance to see the Takhi, the world's only truly wild horses. Visit early morning or late afternoon when the horses are most active. The temperature can change quickly even in summer so bring layers.

- Day 3
Karakorum
Take a 4-5 hour drive to the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire. Stop at Erdene Zuu Monastery, the oldest Buddhist monastery in Mongolia with its 108 surrounding stupas. Women should bring a headscarf and everyone should remove hats inside temples. Consider getting an English-speaking guide at the local museum to better understand the history.

What people love about 10-day Mongolia tours
- Mongolia Naadam Festival - Gobi Desert Tour
The services provided by Amicus Mongolia Travel were excellent. Our travel consultant, Oyunaa was very efficient and helpful and our Ulaanbaatar and Gobi guide were very knowledgeable and spoke good English. Our Mongolia highlight was the Nadam festival and Gobi desert. We went for the Nadaam. The opening ceremony was fantastic, as too was the Festival horse race. The Gobi desert is not just sand dunes. It diversifies bizarre rock formations, canyons, the Gurvansaikhan mountain range and sand dunes, as well as forests of small saxaul trees and other desert vegetation. Most of the populations have a nomadic lifestyle, frequently moving with their round white felt yurts (Ger) and herds of camels, goats and horses. This trip is a fascinating cultural experience. Our visit in Mongolia was very new experience and enjoyable thanks to Amicus team and we have no hesitation in using their services again in the future.
