London

London to Paris
Board the Eurostar train from London St. Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord. The trip takes about 2.5 hours through the Channel Tunnel. Get to St. Pancras at least 45 minutes early for security. Once in Paris, take a relaxing walk along the Seine to get your bearings.

Paris
Visit the Louvre in the morning before it gets busy. Later, take a guided walking tour through a historic Paris neighborhood and see the city from the water on a Seine River cruise. "The evening river cruise gave us magical views of the Eiffel Tower sparkling at night - definitely time your cruise for sunset."

Paris to Dijon
Travel through beautiful French countryside to Dijon, passing Fontainebleau Forest and Burgundy's vineyards. Walk through Dijon's historic center when you arrive. The Place de la Libération looks particularly beautiful in late afternoon light, and you can explore the whole city on foot.

Dijon to Lucerne
Take a 4-hour journey through eastern France into Switzerland. In Lucerne, visit the medieval Chapel Bridge and Lion Monument on a walking tour. "The carved lion is incredibly touching - go early morning to avoid tour groups and really take in the artistry."

Lucerne to Bergamo
Start your day with views of Lake Lucerne and the Alps before heading to Bergamo, Italy. You'll see stunning Alpine scenery on the drive. When you arrive in Bergamo, take the funicular up to the medieval Città Alta for dinner with panoramic views.

Bergamo to Venice
Begin with a funicular ride to explore Bergamo's upper town. The drive to Venice takes about 3 hours. A private boat will take you to your hotel, which is much easier than dealing with Venice's bridges while carrying luggage. In the evening, take a water taxi through the Grand Canal to see the lit-up palazzos.

Venice to Florence to Rome
Leave in the morning for Florence (3 hours). Take a guided walk to see the Duomo and Baptistry. Then continue through Tuscany's olive groves and vineyards to Rome (3 hours). Remember to bring water and snacks for this full day of travel.

Rome
Start early at the Vatican Museums to avoid crowds. Visit the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica, then head to the Colosseum. "Wear very comfortable shoes - the Vatican Museums involve hours of walking on marble floors. Also bring a light scarf as shoulders must be covered in churches."

Rome
The tour ends after breakfast. If you're flying out, plan to leave for Fiumicino Airport at least 3 hours before your flight. Rome's traffic can be unpredictable.

Visit Fontenay Abbey early in the morning before the tour buses arrive. Take time to explore medieval Semur-en-Auxois and get photos of its ancient walls in the morning light. Stop in Vézelay on your way to Paris.

Start with Versailles first thing (it's 45 minutes from central Paris). In Montmartre, use the funicular instead of climbing all those steps. Trekking Mont Blanc with G Adventures was a great trip. At times it was strenuous but the views were worth the effort. Our guide could not have been better. He was always helpful and very knowledgeable about the local traditions.

Experience was good, changing of groups and tour guide was excessive and at one point was placed in a group that spoke a completely different language.
This was the most amazing week of my life! A year on and I’m still thinking about it and catching up with the friends I made. I had no idea anyone could experience so much in such a short time but wow, it felt like a months long holiday in the best way possible. Our tour manager Rianna (AKA RiRi) was phenomenal!!! The amount of work she put in to making our trip so fantastic was insane, she went above and beyond, never stopping, but still making sure we were all having the times of our lives! On top of all the planning and organising RiRi worked so hard to bring us all together and really make us a Contiki family and kept the spirits high, even when we were all severely hungover or unexpected delays like a helicopter landing on the motorway right in front of our coach delays us for hours!!! Not only did RiRi handle all that but made sure we were still having fun with bus karaoke and our feel good tune everyday! The itenerary was so perfect! We got to see so much and get such great experiences that brought us all together, I made friends for life in some of the coolest and most beautiful places in the world! The boat tour around Capri was a major highlight!!! With a bonus party at the hostel that night, which was such a great surprise! The places we visited were amazing but the people took it to the next level, and RiRi seriously out did herself! I CANNOT believe that was her first trip!!!! The professionalism she had and how well everything was handled had me believing RiRi had done it for years! Oh, and shoutout to Tomasz, the best coach driver going! If you’re thinking about doing a contiki, DO IT! You won’t regret it! You meet the best people and make core memories for life!
