What people love about Budget Tours in Amalfi Coast
- Amalfi Coast Experience - Small Group Tour
This tour was excellent not just because of the breathtaking scenery, but the exceptional guides Irene and Emanuele who made the tour what it was. I have done numerous tours in the past and both these guides have by far been the most informative, friendliest and helpful. The tour has an excellent route, taking you between places that are difficult to reach by yourself/with public transport. I feel that I would have struggled a lot trying to get these places by myself. Another great thing about the tour is the amount of time spent in each place. I felt that I was not rushed through places and there is a good balance between free time and group activities. Irene's and Emanuele's local knowledge was very useful, such as where to get the best lemon granita and pizza by the metre!! The tour also included a couple of stops so that we could take photo against the magnificent views. Overall fantastic tour that I would recommend to anyone keen on exploring southern Italy would do it again in a heartbeat and will be using Italy on a Budget for next trip to Italy.
- Journey of Rome, Sorrento & Amalfi Coast - 7 days
The trip TourRadar/ClickTours curated was one that I will be talking about for many years to come. Everyone from Raphael (Amalfi Coast Tour), Vicenzo(Pompeii Tour) and our driver back to the Centrale Napoli station were phenomenal and gracious hosts. The hotels were very accommodating, beautiful, and centrally located as well. Thank you, TourRadar/ClickTours and all of the staff for making this trip one to remember!
What our customers ask about Budget Tours to Amalfi Coast
How much should I budget for optional activities in the Amalfi Coast region?
Budget travelers should set aside between $100-150 for activities beyond the standard tour package. A boat ride along the Positano coastline costs $15-20 and offers scenic views of the limestone cliffs. Capri island cruises which include swimming stops typically cost $20-25. The famous Blue Grotto visit adds another $14 to your expenses. A TourRadar traveler advised: "The optional boat cruise around Capri for 20 EUR was definitely worth it offering great swimming stops and views."
What transportation costs should I expect on budget Amalfi Coast tours?
Daily transport expenses average $15-20 beyond included transfers. Getting around means using the public SITA buses which cost $4-8 per journey between coastal towns. Ferry services to Capri island are priced at $20 for a round trip. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The local SITA buses were very affordable at around 4 EUR per journey though sometimes crowded during peak season."
Which budget-friendly areas should I stay in along the Amalfi Coast?
Smart travelers choose Vico Equense Agerola or Sant'Agnello over the more expensive Positano or Capri. These locations connect easily to main attractions through public transport while saving considerably on accommodation costs. Budget hotels like Hotel Risorgimento in Agerola deliver good value. As one TourRadar traveler mentioned: "While Agerola was a bit far from everything it offered amazing views and was much more affordable than staying in Positano or Amalfi proper."
What type of accommodation can I expect on budget tours in the Amalfi Coast region?
Most budget-conscious travelers stay in simple but comfortable 3-4 star hotels and B&Bs. Sorrento offers properties like Hotel Michelangelo while Vico Equense features places like Domo 20. The Hotel Risorgimento in Agerola provides basic rooms but includes home-style meals and panoramic views. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The hotels were visually nice though Hotel Risorgimento in Agerola was more basic but had fantastic staff and delicious 3-course meals each night."
What's the average daily budget I should plan for meals not included in Amalfi Coast tours?
Set aside $40-50 daily for meals outside your tour package. Most tours cover breakfast and some group dinners particularly in Sorrento and Naples. Local restaurants away from tourist centers serve pasta dishes for $12-15 and authentic Neapolitan pizza for $8-10. According to a TourRadar traveler review: "The food options in Sorrento and along the coast were reasonably priced especially when you venture away from the main tourist areas."
When is the most affordable time to visit the Amalfi Coast region?
Travel during March-April or October-November to find rates 20-30% lower than peak season. Hotels like the Michelangelo in Sorrento reduce their prices significantly during these months. The weather remains mild enough for outdoor activities including the Path of Gods hike. A TourRadar traveler shared: "We visited in October and found great value with fewer crowds at attractions like Pompeii and better rates on local tours."
