Budget Tours & Trips to France Reviews
- Paris, Normandy and the Loire
I traveled with my Dad and we both liked our tour! Every stop on our itinerary was perfectly timed, even if we felt a bit rushed at times, in hindsight extra time wouldn’t have been that beneficial and less time wouldn’t have been enough.
- Spain, south of France, Burgundy and Alsace (20 destinations)
Scenic, Packed, and Worth It! The French Riviera tour was stunning—so many gorgeous spots packed into a short time! You get to visit places that would be difficult to manage on your own, and the views are absolutely unforgettable. It was a bit hectic with tight schedules, long drives, and limited time at each location, but the guides did their best to keep things organized. With a diverse group of people and different guides across locations, it could feel a bit overwhelming, but the beauty of the Riviera made it all worth it. Highly recommended if you want to see a lot in a short time!
- Paris and Versailles
This trip was great from beginning to end. The Eskapas team was amazing to work with and really allowed me to customize my trip to be exactly what I wanted. They were quick with responses and were very helpful with all my questions. This was not only my first international trip, but also my first solo trip and they made this trip so seamless and well planned out so that I was able to enjoy my trip once I was in Paris.
What our customers ask about Budget Tours & Trips to France
What is the average daily cost for budget tours in France?
Budget tours in France cost between $136-225 USD per day. This price covers basic accommodation transportation and select meals. The Loire Valley cycling tours are on the lower end at $136 USD per day while cultural tours in Paris run $171-225 USD daily. Reviews from TourRadar travelers point to these tours offering solid value for experiencing key French destinations. A recent review of the Highlights of France tour stated: "For the price you can't beat this tour - we saw SO much in those days and the included meals and accommodation were acceptable."
What type of accommodation can I expect on budget tours in France?
Budget tours use 2-3 star hotels and local guesthouses (chambres d'hôtes) in convenient locations. In Paris specific properties like Hotel Andre Latin in the 5th arrondissement and Alexandrine Opera Hotel in the 8th district offer simple clean rooms. A TourRadar traveler described their Paris hotel experience: "The hotel was nothing fancy but it was clean comfortable and in a great location for exploring the city." Rooms typically include private bathrooms daily breakfast and easy access to public transit.
When is the most affordable time to visit France on a budget tour?
The best deals are found from November through March except during the holiday season. These winter months see lower rates in popular spots like Nice and Paris with fewer tourists at major sites. The shoulder seasons of April-May and September-October balance good weather with reasonable prices especially when visiting places like Loire Valley castles and the French Riviera.
What are some budget-friendly areas to visit in France?
Several regions deliver great value beyond Paris. Look to smaller cities like Lectoure in Armagnac Carcassonne in Occitanie and Nice along the Mediterranean coast. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The Canal du Midi area was perfect for exploring on a budget with affordable accommodation and dining options in charming villages." These destinations offer authentic French experiences at lower prices than the capital.
What meals are typically included in budget France tours?
Most tours provide daily buffet breakfasts and occasional dinners particularly in regions like Provence and Loire Valley. The Highlights of France tour serves as an example offering 12 breakfasts and 4 dinners of local dishes. According to a TourRadar review: "The included breakfasts were substantial with fresh croissants cheeses and meats. Having some dinners included helped manage costs." Lunch is usually independent letting you explore local dining options.
Are entrance fees included in budget France tour prices?
Tour packages vary in what's covered for attractions. The Paris Oh La La tour includes fast-track entry to major sites like the Louvre (17 USD) and Eiffel Tower (26 USD). As noted by a TourRadar participant: "Having major attraction tickets included upfront helped us budget better for other expenses." Optional visits to places like Versailles or Mont Saint-Michel often cost extra.
