What people love about Active Tours in Indonesia
- Sumatra Adventure (8 destinations)
Starting with the hike in the Leuser National Park was a good idea. It was a bit tough due to the start of the rain season which made the climb a bit slippery. The guides were fantastic and the explanation thorough. The mountain area of Berastagi was beautiful and the crater climb interesting. Soaking in the natural baths after the climb was just tops. Ending the tour on Samosir island was so relaxing. I enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it.
- Bali Experience 15 Day
What a fantastic tour! From the brilliant itinerary to amazing accommodation, this tour has been spot on with everything! I saw so much more of Bali’s incredible sites and welcoming culture than I ever excepted when booking and I’m certainly not disappointed that I did. All of the accommodation was immaculate and our activities were well planned out and always left you with a smile on your face. I feel that the experience was made even better with the company of our group leader, Morgan Wayland, was brilliant from start to finish. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see all the best bits that Bali has to offer.
- Bali & Beyond
Where to start? This review could be turned into a piece of award winning writing involving more superlatives than one of Donald Trumps speeches. However I'll keep it just short enough for you to feel the magic and book it for yourself. I booked the brand new 18 day 'Bali and Beyond' tour and in turned out to be far more than pictures, words and even David Attenborough documentaries could have prepared me for. Starting in Canggu we had three nights of fun and laughter, visiting some really cool bars, nightclubs and places to eat. Canggu is nothing like I expected; modern with most places fitting in perfectly in the hippest parts of the UK, excluding all the pretentious people! Ubud was next.... I'd spent a week in Ubud already so didn't expect a great deal extra but I was wrong. The local knowledge of our guide meant we spent our nights in some great bars; while I'm told it's completely untrue, I'm still convinced one night in Laughing Buddha turned me into a Salsa extraordinaire! One fantastic treat was a local cooking class run by Wayan (yes there are lots of Wayan!).... His family have created an exceptionally professional setup in the back of their home garden. Capable of teaching 20+ incompetent Bule's the perfect art of making basic sauce and 10 dishes in just under an hour. This will render you amazed by what you've all cooked yourselves for lunch; better than most warung food you will eat. Gili T and Kuta Lombok next.... A few interesting boat rides, quite a bit of walking and bike riding. Gili T provides more than enough opportunities to party and with a great cycle ride around the island on one day you'll be sure to sweat off any reminders from the night before. Now the journey really started for me...Sumbawa, Moyo, liveaboard, Komodo and Flores. All of this was nothing short of spectacular, the efforts gone through to research everything between Sumbawa and Flores needs experiencing for yourself. The most serene and perfect waterfall I'll probably ever see in my life on Moyo, snorkeling with Manta Rays and sharks, the treks up various view points on the islands in Komodo National Park. The list goes on...and on....and on. Living on board a boat with people you hardly know is better than I could ever have imagined. The laughter and tears were far beyond anything we all expected. I can thank TruTravels and Drew Harwood enough for these 18 days of my life. Such a small amount of time in comparison to my life so far yet it'll remain long beyond any acquaintance I may make sat in a dull grey office back home.
