Wonderful tour of France! We saw and did SO much in those 13 days! I enjoyed every day, but especially Nice, Lourdes, Bordeaux wine tasting, Mont St. Michel, and Omaha Beach and the US cemetery there. The included meals could’ve been better. At times, only one choice was offered, so I’d choose the vegetarian option on nights where I didn’t like the meat choice! I wish we had more time at some of the stops, but I guess that’s a reason to go back! The hotels were all acceptable, but if you’re looking for more luxury, book Trafalgar! For the price, you can’t beat this tour! I had a wonderful experience and will definitely use Costsaver/Trafalgar again!
What our customers ask about France Family Tours
What are the best family-friendly activities and attractions in France?
France's family activities range from the grand halls of Versailles to interactive experiences that bring history to life. The Palace of Versailles lets families walk through the famous Hall of Mirrors while Claude Monet's Gardens in Giverny offers space for children to roam. In Normandy the D-Day Family Experience gives children a chance to try on field jackets and taste authentic WWII soldier chocolate rations. At Château du Clos Lucé children receive "inventor's notebooks" to sketch their own machines inspired by da Vinci's work. According to a TourRadar traveler "The tour was interesting fun and just the right balance of group and independent activities." Family-friendly hotels like the Renaissance La Défense in Paris or Novotel Nice Centre Vieux provide comfortable bases for exploration.
What are the best times of year to visit France with family?
Late spring (May-June) and early fall (September) offer the most pleasant conditions for family travel in France. During these months Paris sees average temperatures of 20°C (68°F) making it comfortable for walking tours and outdoor activities. A TourRadar traveler noted "September was ideal for our family trip - comfortable weather for walking in Paris and fewer crowds at Disneyland Paris." The French Riviera shows its best side in May and June with perfect conditions for beach activities and fewer tourists than peak summer months.
