Reviews of England And France Family Tours
- London & Paris
Confusing transfer to the Eurostar train both leaving London and getting to bus in Paris.
- London to Barcelona
It was very good value for money considering the hotels we had. The buses were clean, however there was no internet or toilet on the buses. The mixed languages made it difficult, sometimes the guides didn’t have good English. It was very fast paced, when not on the bus. You get to see a lot on the excursions. It would have been a good idea to add a couple more days at the end to be able to enjoy Barcelona.
- London and Paris Explorer (Summer)
The Trafalgar people were wonderful. We were met at the London airport and taken care of every step of the way. We had enough free time and tour time. Our guides were great. I would take a Trafalgar tour every year if I could!
What our customers ask about England and France Family Tours
What are the best family-friendly attractions and activities in England and France?
The two countries present an array of activities that appeal to all ages. In England families can explore the medieval Tower of London and take in city views from the London Eye. Paris offers the iconic Eiffel Tower and relaxing Seine River cruises. Family-focused hotels like the Crowne Plaza Republique in Paris and The Tower Hotel in London place visitors close to major attractions. As one TourRadar traveler noted "My 14-year-old granddaughter loved London was quick to catch on to the workings of the Tube. Really enjoyed live theatre the London Eye and shopping. Paris was a postcard anyway we looked and we mastered the Metro."
What is the best time of year for families to visit England and France?
Peak family travel runs June through August with warm weather and extended attraction hours. The shoulder seasons of April-May and September-October bring fewer tourists and comfortable temperatures for exploring. Winter draws families during school breaks with festive Christmas markets and seasonal events. Year-round accommodations like the Novotel Paris Centre Tour Eiffel provide climate-controlled spaces for any weather. According to one TourRadar traveler: "We enjoyed having flexibility with the independent travel style to explore at our own pace."
How much walking is involved in these family tours?
Daily walking averages 2-3 miles between attractions. Paris includes some elevation changes especially in areas like Montmartre. London's major sites from Westminster Abbey to Tower Bridge spread across the city center but remain walkable. One TourRadar traveler notes: "Be prepared to walk. The first and next to last day you will be walking most of a 10 hour day but you can get an Uber back to the hotel on your own." Most tours provide hop-on-hop-off bus passes as walking alternatives.
What educational experiences are available for children in England and France?
The destinations serve as living classrooms. London's British Museum Tower of London and Science Museum offer hands-on learning. Paris counters with the Louvre Museum Notre Dame Cathedral and the interactive Cité des Sciences. Hotels like the Courtyard Marriott Paris St Denis and Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh Haymarket provide easy access to these cultural sites. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The local guides made history come alive for our children at both the Tower of London and Versailles Palace."
What type of accommodation is provided for families?
Accommodations range from city hotels to river cruise ships with family-specific layouts. Paris properties like the Crown Plaza Republique feature rooms sized for families while London hotels near Tower Bridge offer strategic locations. River vessels include flexible cabin configurations and connecting room options. As noted by a TourRadar reviewer: "The accommodations were first rate and well placed. Next to the Tower of London and next to the Eiffel Tower."
How do tours handle transfers between England and France with families?
The Eurostar high-speed train connects the countries in 2.5 hours from Paris to London. Tour packages include standard-class rail tickets and hotel transfers with properties like the Crown Plaza Republique in Paris and central London accommodations near Westminster. One TourRadar traveler reported: "The transition from Paris to London was very smooth and well-organized making it stress-free for our whole family."
