What people love about Antelope Canyon Tours
- Zion Glamping Adventure
An absolutely incredible, picturesque trip, and our second experience with Intrepid. We explored Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley, and the amazing Peek-a-Boo Slot Canyon. Our amazing tour leader Kriss Urban was a book of knowledge and a great storyteller! This Utah trip is a MUST for outdoor lovers.
- Enchanting Canyonlands (Classic)
I wanted to say excellent, but there is room for improvement. The website could be better. It required passport information with no option for "Not applicable." As a U.S. Citizen traveling in the U.S., a passport wasn't needed, but I continued to get reminders to complete my profile. Fortunately, I got an email assuring me I didn't need the passport, but I suggest updating your website. The descriptions of several days said "relaxed start," but most days, we had to be up early enough to be showered, dressed, and have our suitcases ready for pickup by 6:30 or 7:00 a.m. As an east-coaster, that was fine for me because of the time difference, but normally, I wouldn't call that relaxed. The sites were stunning, the optional activities were great, although one that I wanted to do got canceled due to a storm and there was no way to reschedule. The lodging was great at each stop and the provided meals were excellent. Some of the suggested "on-your-own" spot for meals were not so good. The change of lodging plans at the Grand Canyon was disappointing because we didn't get to see the sunrise at the Grand Canyon or the stars late the night before. Sedona, The Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Bryce Canyon, and Zion National Park were all fantastic, and we were blessed with great weather for most of the trip. Everyone should see these wonders of God's creation.
- Golden West Adventure - Los Angeles Downtown (ending in Las Vegas)
Although the dates of the tour were promoted as being an English language tour it was indeed an English, Italian and Spanish guided tour. When I booked the tour I noticed there were dates specifically for Italian and Spanish so I selected the one that said English. I did not mind the three languages so much but at times it was hard to follow what the guide was saying, I do not fault the guide. It just made some parts of the tour a bit lacking. As far as I know there were only two others in the group that relied on English for this tour. After speaking with them I thought they felt the same way. I had no problems with the others on the tour. They generally seemed very nice. The tour was promoted as having an half day tour of Los Angeles, mainly in the Hollywood area, but the tour only lasted three hours. After that we could remain with the group to take an optional tour of the beach area. or find our way back to the hotel on our own being reimbursed for for what we would pay. Although the beach trip was great, I felt only three hours of an advertised half day tour was misleading. The tour seemed rushed at times and not enough time to spend at some locations. I realize there were great distances between locations that would account for this. But maybe some things could be tweaked. I am not sure I can recommend this tour to my American friends If it was ONLY in English, yes, since there wee options for an Italian and Spanish tour. Maybe the tour company is generated for citizens of other countries and that is great. I love having them visit the USA. And I love visiting other countries myself. I have been to 35. This is the first time I have taken a guided tour of the USA. Mario, the tour director, and Norman, the bus driver, both were great. Mario seemed to make sure I understood some directions.
What our customers ask about Antelope Canyon Tours & Trips
What is the best time of year to visit Antelope Canyon?
Visitors will find optimal conditions at Antelope Canyon from March through October when light beams shine most prominently in Upper Antelope Canyon. The desert climate in Page Arizona keeps temperatures comfortable between 70-90°F (21-32°C). Photographers get the best results between 10am and 1pm as sunlight filters through the sandstone curves. A TourRadar traveler noted: "Lower Antelope Canyon was really beautiful and amazing it was a highlight of our entire southwestern tour. The colors and formations were absolutely incredible in the mid-morning light."
What are the different sections of Antelope Canyon and which should I visit?
The canyon features two distinct sections each offering unique experiences. Upper Antelope Canyon provides easier access with wider pathways and famous light beams. Lower Antelope Canyon requires more physical effort with staircases but rewards visitors with smaller crowds and intricate rock formations. Both sections sit near Page Arizona and require authorized Navajo guides. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Don't be afraid to go to Lower Antelope Canyon. It was my favorite part of the tour! Your guide is with you the whole time. In some areas it is very tight and you have to climb over rocks plus there are a lot of steep stairs."
How far in advance should I book an Antelope Canyon tour?
Securing a tour requires planning at least 2-3 months ahead particularly during the busy season from March to October. The sought-after midday slots when light beams appear fill up quickly. Booking data shows most visitors reserve 213-294 days in advance with August seeing up to 52 tour bookings. Hotels like Lake Powell Resort recommend securing canyon tours before finalizing accommodation.
What is included in typical Antelope Canyon tours?
Tours come with essential components: Navajo guide expertise park entrance fees and transport from Page Arizona meeting points. Many packages like those connected to the Clarion Inn Page add stops at nearby Horseshoe Bend. A TourRadar traveler noted: "Our tour included an expert Navajo guide who shared fascinating cultural stories and helped with photography plus we got to see both Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend in one day."
How long do Antelope Canyon tours typically last?
Tours spend 1-1.5 hours exploring the canyon's interior. When factoring in transportation from Page hotels like the Best Western the complete experience takes 2-3 hours. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The 1.5-hour Navajo guided tour was perfect - enough time to see everything and take photos without feeling rushed. We started from our hotel in Page and the whole experience took about 2.5 hours."
What is the best way to get to Antelope Canyon?
Page Arizona serves as the gateway to Antelope Canyon located just 10 minutes from downtown. Visitors can reach Page by car from several major cities: Las Vegas (4.5 hours) Phoenix (4 hours) or Flagstaff (2.5 hours). Many choose to stay at local accommodations like the Clarion Inn Page. A TourRadar traveler recommended: "We joined a tour from Las Vegas that included transportation - it was much easier than driving ourselves and our guide shared interesting information about the region during the journey."
