Excellent tour of the Holy Land
Best of Holy Land Israel & Jordan and Egypt Tour with Nile Cruise - 17 Days - M
Matt • traveled in April
This was an incredible, trip of a lifetime. The itinerary is jam packed but the sites and experiences you get to see are well worth it! I wish I would have had an extra day in Jerusalem, one day was not enough. I did have an issue with the bus breaking down in Egypt on the 10 hour drive from Israel. This was unexpected as well as the many checkpoints through Egypt. I wish I would have upgraded to the 4 star hotels, the 3 star hotels were not very nice especially the Deborah Hotel in Israel. All the guides were excellent and the transition from border to border was seamless!

- Winter 2025 / 2026
Our winter tours through Egypt and Israel attract travelers seeking pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds at major sites. The longer 17-19 day comprehensive tours stand out, offering ample time at each location. Our customers particularly value the knowledgeable guides in Egypt during this season, noting how they explain intricate historical details at quieter archaeological sites. - Spring 2026
Spring brings ideal conditions for our combined country tours, with several standout 12-13 day itineraries garnering excellent reviews. Our travelers consistently praise the desert experiences during this season - camping in Wadi Rum followed by early morning exploration of Petra before the heat sets in. The spring Nile cruises include stops at Kom Ombo and Edfu, where guests can comfortably explore the temples. Many customers highlight how the moderate temperatures make floating in the Dead Sea especially pleasant. Jerusalem tours in spring allow for longer walks through the Old City, with our guides providing deep historical context at each religious site.

- Summer 2026
Our summer routes through Egypt and Israel are carefully planned with early morning departures, making the most of cooler hours at major sites. The 10-13 day multi-country journeys let you explore Jerusalem's quarters at dawn, then float in the Dead Sea's soothing waters by late afternoon. Many of our travelers opt for routes with a 3-4 night Nile cruise, where air-conditioned cabins and deck pools offer a perfect break between temple visits. We've built flexibility into the Luxor and Karnak visits, scheduling them when temperatures are most pleasant. Our Tel Aviv departures crossing to Jordan first and then continuing to Egypt work particularly well - you'll see Petra in the gentle morning light before temperatures climb. For those keen on archaeology, our 17-day journeys dive deeper with well-timed visits to the Valley of the Kings and extended time at the Egyptian Museum during peak heat hours. Our travelers tell us these summer routes strike just the right balance, mixing early archaeological visits with peaceful afternoons on Nile cruises or at Dead Sea resorts.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
The 12-19 day Egypt and Israel tours shine in autumn when conditions are just right for exploring these ancient lands. Our travelers tell us how much they love camping beneath desert stars at Wadi Rum, then walking through Petra's corridors early morning before other visitors arrive. The Nile cruises hit perfect timing with stops at Kom Ombo, Edfu and other temples when mild temperatures make exploration comfortable. Dead Sea floating feels especially pleasant during autumn's gentler weather patterns. Cultural immersion runs deep on these routes - you might share morning tea with Bedouin families, explore Jerusalem's historic quarters and discover archaeological treasures with knowledgeable guides who make ancient stories come alive. The longer tour formats include traditional felucca sailing on the Nile, visits to artisan workshops and also time in local markets without summer's intensity. Our guides provide rich historical context at each location while giving travelers space to absorb meaningful moments at spiritual sites like the Western Wall and Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

How Do You Get Between Egypt and Israel?
The quickest way is hopping on a direct flight between Cairo and Tel Aviv. If you're up for something more adventurous you can cross at the Taba border and drive through the Sinai Desert - it's about a 10-hour journey to Cairo but the landscapes are incredible. Tour companies like Booking-tours.com handle all the border crossing stuff which makes things way easier.
What Cultural Experiences Shouldn't I Miss?
In Egypt you've got to get out on the Nile in a traditional felucca - there's nothing quite like seeing those ancient temples from the water. Make sure to catch a Nubian show in Aswan too it's full of amazing local music and dance. Over in Israel the Mahane Yehuda Market in Jerusalem is where you'll really feel the pulse of daily Israeli life. And visiting a kibbutz gives you this fascinating look at communal living that's such a big part of Israel's story.
How Should I Handle Visiting Religious Sites?
When you're visiting religious places keep it modest - shoulders and knees covered is the way to go. Ladies you'll need a headscarf for some mosques and synagogues. Watch out for photo restrictions and if you're not sure just ask your guide. Remember things slow down in Israel on Fridays for the Sabbath and during Ramadan in Egypt you'll want to be mindful of fasting times and different business hours.
