- Day 1
Kuala Lumpur to Taman Negara
Meet in KL between 6:30-7:00 AM for your 3-hour drive to Labu Sentral Jetty. If you get motion sickness, bring medication for the 2-hour boat ride which can be rough during rainy season. The river journey is great for wildlife watching. Look for hornbills and monitor lizards along the riverbanks. For the best views of the jungle, choose a seat on the right side of the boat.

- Day 2
Bateq Indigenous Community
Spend a full day with the Bateq people of Dedari Village. Wear light clothes that dry quickly and pack water in a daypack. The humidity is high and you'll be active. Your morning focuses on learning survival skills including medicinal plants and food gathering techniques. You'll enjoy an authentic lunch made with ingredients collected from the forest. In the afternoon learn about Bateq cultural traditions and beliefs.

- Day 3
Return to Kuala Lumpur
- Day 1
Kuala Lumpur to Rompin Rainforest Lodge
Leave KL by 7 AM to avoid heavy traffic on your 4-hour drive east to Rompin State Park. You'll pass through palm plantations before reaching untouched rainforest. After checking in spend your afternoon at the Rainforest Discovery Centre learning about local plant life. The 80-meter suspension bridge over Kinchin River is best visited between 3-5 PM when the sun isn't as strong and you'll get better photos. In the evening join a night walk with your nature guide to spot nocturnal wildlife. Wear dark clothes to increase your chances of seeing the rare Sunda Colugo (Flying Lemur).

- Day 2
River Cruise and Waterfall Trek
Start your day with a 2-hour cruise on Sungai Kinchin when animals are most active. Bring binoculars to spot hornbills and macaques up in the trees. Stop for a swim in the clear waters of Sungai Kernam but remember to pack water shoes for the rocky riverbed. After lunch set out on a 4-hour round-trip hike to Mahkota Waterfall. The trail gets muddy and steep but seeing the 50-meter waterfall is worth the effort. Keep an eye out for elephant tracks as this is part of their forest pathway. Take time to swim in the pool at the base of the falls.

- Day 3
Return to Kuala Lumpur
