Nature lovers should definitely check out Jozani Forest to see these incredible red colobus monkeys they're only found here and the island hopping tours are great for finding those hidden beaches and sandbanks.

Urojo's a must-try it's this hearty soup with potatoes and noodles you'll find it all over Stone Town especially at Forodhani night market. Zanzibar pizza isn't what you'd expect it's actually this incredible savory crepe filled with seafood and local spices. The biryani here is something special too the rice is packed with cloves cinnamon and cardamom you can really taste the island's spice heritage. Most Swahili restaurants do a great version.
