What people love about Camino De Santiago Tours
- Walking the Camino de Santiago (from Madrid to Cape Finisterre)
Our tour guide Els was fabulous and made this trip so successful. I am sure we were a challenging group - we had an elderly lady on the trip who really was not up to it and sickness in the group. Els dealt with it all and did not lose her patience. She was extremely kind, friendly and helpful. I found the walk challenging but enjoyed the scenery, the historic villages and the comraderie of the group and other travellers we met along the way.

Traveling overseas can be stressful. Luckily we had Chris and Marco taking care of us the entire way. That included meetings before the trip to make sure we understood what to expect. Chris sent us a training schedule that we followed pretty closely to get ready. Once we started the Camino Frances through the end we never worried about availability for hotels or good restaurants--they had it covered. We got to see some of the most beautiful countryside and also the important Pelegrino art along the way. I couldn't be more satisfied with the journey. I would highly recommend Climbing Mountains to anyone without hesitation.
- Trekking the Camino de Santiago
Our trip on the Camino De Santiago was great! And a good value too. Our Guide David did a wonderful job by providing details and pointing out unique features along the Camino. David was very responsive to individual requests for assistance with little problems that pop up. David was very knowledgeable about local foods and special dishes and very helpful to those with special dietary needs. Everyone in our group enjoyed their journey on the Camino. Thank you Tour Radar and Thank you David. John Outfleet
What our customers ask about Camino de Santiago Tours & Trips
What's the Camino de Santiago all about?
The Camino de Santiago is this amazing network of pilgrim routes that wind through Europe and end up at the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral in Galicia Spain. It's actually a UNESCO World Heritage site and pilgrims have been walking to see St. James the Apostle's tomb there since medieval times.
Which Camino routes can I choose from?
There's quite a few routes you can take to Santiago really. The Camino Francés is probably the most popular one starting in France and covering about 780km through northern Spain. Then you've got the Portuguese Way which starts from either Lisbon or Porto with some beautiful landscapes along the way. The Northern Way follows Spain's gorgeous coastline and if you're up for a challenge the Original Way from Oviedo is the oldest route with some pretty tough terrain.
How do I get those pilgrim documents everyone talks about?
Getting your Pilgrim Credential is pretty straightforward you can pick one up from Camino societies churches or where you start walking. You'll want to collect stamps as you go from places like albergues churches and cafes. Once you make it to Santiago and you've walked at least 100km just head to the Pilgrim's Office with your stamped credential. They'll give you this really cool Compostela certificate that shows exactly how far you've walked like 779.5km if you did the French Way.
