Itinerary
- Day 1
Tirana to Berat - Roshnik
You'll leave Tirana early and head toward Berat, picking either the scenic asphalt route or a rougher off-road option depending on what appeals to you. Weather permitting, there's a chance to stop for a swim in one of the local lakes along the way. Once you arrive in Berat, you can explore the historic Kalaja Castle neighbourhood with its old Ottoman architecture, or if you'd prefer something quieter, the mountain village of Roshnik near Alpeta Winery is another good choice for the night.

- Day 2
Berat - Roshnik to Vjosa Valley
Today you'll decide between an off-road route or the newer asphalt road as you make your way to a small village with views overlooking the Vjosa river valley. The route itself is part of the experience here, so pick whichever driving style suits your mood. By afternoon, you'll be settled in with those river valley views in front of you.

- Day 3
Vjosa Valley to Libohovë
The off-road route today takes you through serious mountain scenery, and if you want, there's a waterfall you can stop at for a dip even this late in the season. The drive is the longer one today, so factor in time for that scenic stretch. By evening you'll reach a small village guesthouse tucked into the mountains where you'll spend the night.

- Day 4
Libohovë to Gjirokastra
You've got real flexibility today to shape how the day goes. Head down to the Ionian coast and walk through Butrint National Park to see the ancient ruins and history there, or skip that entirely and drive straight to Gjirokastra, which is your second UNESCO World Heritage site on this tour. Either way, you'll end up in Gjirokastra for the night.

- Day 5
Gjirokastra to Riviera
Today's a big driving day across the coastal mountains, and you'll choose between sticking to asphalt or taking a dirt trail depending on conditions and your preference. The route descends gradually, and by the end of the day you'll reach a small village near Himarë on the Riviera where you'll settle in.

Landmarks Himarë - Day 6
Riviera to Tirana
This is your longest drive of the whole tour, heading north along the highway back to Tirana. You can make optional stops along the way if something catches your eye, or if you're still up for more challenging terrain, there's an off-road detour option available. You'll pull back into Tirana by evening to wrap things up.
