  • Crossing France (from Saint-Tropez to Paris) reviewer 1
    · October 2nd, 2021
Save your money and choose another tour or plan it yourself! This Crossing France tour is not worth it. Very unorganized, with lots of time wasted trying to find parking, the guide not knowing where to go or having issues with checking in to hotels (didn’t really seem like the hotels even know about this tour group either). No information at all from our “guide”. She was nice, but definitely had a job as a driver vs a “guide”. Really didn’t learn about anything we did in any of the places we spent, not to mention you only spent about an hour there to walk around the town. After bringing up our concerns with the tour company, they told us we told them too late…when it was really the 2nd day of the tour (don’t count the first and last days since you don’t do anything but arrive or leave). No empathy at all and everything to blame on us. It says something when 75% of the tour group leaves before mid-tour (feel a bit sorry for the guy who stayed behind). You also don’t do a lot of the things that they mention on the tour (and don’t get options to do or not do them). One of the issues is the inaccuracy of it all…Rochepot Castle is something you visit; however, when we arrived, our guide was ready to buy our tickets, but we found out from another bike tour that was passing by that the castle has been closed since 2018! Why…is that even on your tour itinerary? Clearly no one has taken this tour before and the person coming up with the activities did no research. :| You have one job… Again, much better to either plan this tour yourself or go with another company! Save your hard-earned money! Don’t even waste the time…

Overall experience was worse than bad. It was an abysmal experience where 75% of the people on the tour left early. As a quick synopsis, we were told we’d have a guided tour but basically the guide was only a driver who was not trained on this tour. It was very apparent she had not been on this tour before because she dropped us off for 40-1 hour to explore on our own. Most of the time, she went to the tourism center to ask the people that worked there for a map and for the things to see. Then she left us to stroll around. There were things on the itinerary that were not followed and we spent most of the time in the car. It was a complete waste of time. The thing that made us leave the trip halfway was that the driver excitedly told us we were going to visit a castle. When we arrive, it’s completely deserted. The driver went to buy us tickets and she peered through the gates wondering why it’s not opened. A bike tour luckily stopped by the same time we were there and I asked their guide if the castle was closed. He said yes. He then said THE CASTLE HAD BEEN CLOSED SINCE 2018!!!! Yes. You read that correctly. Whoever put Crossing France together did not cross France or do any research when putting this tour together. It was ridiculous. Our driver had no idea. It was after this incident that 75% of the tour decided to leave. Too many incidents happened - at hotels and the tour for us to stay. It was ridiculous. We are now trying to get a refund but all we’re getting from Europamundo are excuses for this tour. They’re unwilling to refund us even for the days we canceled the hotels and everything for the rest of the tour because we left early. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and thought the tour would get better but it only got worse. And all I said here was the tip of the iceberg. The tour was not cheap either and they put you in the cheapest hotels. We’re still fighting for a refund. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK A TOUR WITH EUROPAMUNDO. They do not care about their customers and do not put effort into putting an adequate tour together. Booking a tour with them was the biggest regret of my trip.
