Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu

You'll arrive in Kathmandu and get settled at your hotel. After that long journey, the afternoon and evening are yours to do what you'd like - relax, nap, or take a walk around the nearby area to get your bearings. Come evening, there's a welcome dinner at a local Nepali restaurant where you can try some regional dishes and meet the group.

    Optional Activities

    • Explore nearby area at your own pace
  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu

Start your morning at the Bagmati River and visit Pashupati Nath Temple, one of the most sacred sites here. The energy at Boudhanath Stupa is calm and meditative, so you'll spend some time there before heading to Kathmandu Durbar Square to see the old palaces and temples. In the afternoon, you'll make your way to Bhaktapur where the streets still feel like they're from centuries ago. The ancient palaces and temples here mix with local shops and activity, and you can wander through at your own pace.

    Kathmandu to Chitwan National Park

Today involves a scenic drive along the Trishuli River heading toward Chitwan National Park. You'll check in at your accommodation and have lunch, then take a walk out to the village. If timing works out, you can catch the sunset from the riverbank, which is nice that time of day.

  4. Day 4

    Chitwan National Park

Wake up early because there's a lot to do in the jungle. First comes a canoe ride through the waterways where you'll spot rare birds and crocodiles if you're lucky. After that, you'll do a guided jungle walk with a naturalist who knows the area well - this is where you might see wildlife up close. Lunch happens back at camp, and then it's time for a jeep safari into the forest looking for rhinos, sloth bears, and if the day goes right, a Royal Bengal Tiger. To finish, there's a Tharu Tribal Dance performance under the stars followed by dinner.

You can hike out to Ramkot Village to see how people actually live in the rural areas. There's also an option to try locally made Raksi (rice liquor) if that interests you, straight from where it's produced.
