You'll spend the day in Canada's first national park with plenty of options to choose from. Start with a helicopter flight over the Three Sisters Peaks if you want that perspective, or go for something more low-key like a float down the Bow River. If you're into activity, there's an e-bike and hiking route through Johnston Canyon that covers good ground. The gondola up Sulphur Mountain takes about 15 minutes and gives you views without the climbing effort. Early season visitors can do snowshoeing instead, and there's also a golf cart tour through wildlife corridors if you want to see what's around without exertion. By evening, head to one of the restaurant options for dinner, or if you're looking to relax before eating, the spa at Fairmont does that well.

    Optional Activities

    • Helicopter Flightseeing: 25-minute helicopter flight over Three Sisters Peaks
    • Bow River Float Trip: Oar-powered raft cruise with wildlife observation
    • Ebike & Hike Johnston Canyon: Guided e-bike tour including Vermilion Lakes, Legacy Trail, and Bow Valley Parkway
    • Banff Gondola: Ascend Sulphur Mountain for bird's-eye views of Banff township and six mountain ranges

  6. Day 6

    Banff to Lake Louise

You'll drive along the Bow Valley Parkway, stopping to see the glacial lakes along the way. There's a choice here between Emerald Lake or Moraine Lake in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, depending on what appeals to you. After that, you'll head to Lake Louise and check into the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise for two nights. Later in the day, you'll meet with a retired Royal Canadian Mounted Police member who can share stories about the Mounties and what that work was really like. The rest of your time is free to spend however you'd like, so you might walk around the lake, grab dinner, or just relax by the water.

    Included Activities

  9. Day 9

    Jasper National Park

This day takes you into the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies where conditions and your interests shape what you do. A peak hike through a fire-recovery area includes hot lunch midway, so you're looking at several hours for that option. If you prefer two wheels, the Harley Davidson sidecar tour covers open roads and handles a lot of ground without requiring your own riding. White-water rafting down the Athabasca River is another route if you want adrenaline and water. The Maligne Canyon and Lakes tour shows off dramatic cliffs and the landscape from a different angle. Early season opens up guided snowshoeing through less-traveled terrain. Any of these takes up most of your day, so picking one lets you really settle into that activity rather than rushing between things.

    Optional Activities

    • Peak Nic Hike: 4 km trek through fire-recovery area with panoramic views and hot lunch (fire recovery experience post-2024 wildfire)
    • Harley Davidson Sidecar Tour: Chauffeured motorcycle sidecar tour through Jasper National Park

Once you arrive at the alpine resort, you'll have time to settle in before heading to the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre in the afternoon. There you can learn about the histories and traditions of both the Squamish and Lil'wat Nations. After that, check into Fairmont Chateau Whistler for your two-night stay.

Start your morning at Butchart Gardens, where you'll walk through botanical displays and peaceful pathways across the 55-acre property on Vancouver Island. The gardens feature seasonal flowers and themed sections, so you'll have plenty to see depending on the time of year. Later, you'll choose one of four options for the afternoon. If you're interested in wildlife, take a boat or Zodiac out for whale watching in the surrounding waters. Prefer a different perspective? A scenic floatplane flight over Victoria gives you views of the coastline and surrounding islands from above. If food interests you more, join a guided tour sampling Canadian cuisine at local spots. Another option is afternoon tea at the historic Fairmont Empress, where you'll sit in the hotel's tea room with a selection of teas, pastries, and finger sandwiches. By evening, gather with your tour director and fellow travelers for a farewell dinner to wrap up your time on the island.
