Seoul
This morning you're heading to the Blue House area to see Seoul's political heart, then moving on to Gyeongbokgung Palace where you can watch the Gwanghwamun Gate Royal Guards Changing Ceremony. After that, the National Folk Museum gives you a solid overview of Korean culture and history. Later, walk through Bukchon Hanok Village where traditional wooden houses line the streets. If you've arranged it, wearing hanbok (traditional Korean dress or a modern fusion version) really adds to the experience here, and you'll fit right in with other visitors.

DMZ
Today takes you outside the city to the DMZ, where you'll get a real sense of the division between North and South Korea. The Third Tunnel of Aggression is something quite different from typical tourist stops, letting you walk down into one of the tunnels dug from the north. After that, the Paju Imjingak Peace Gondola gives you a different perspective, with views out over the Han River and the surrounding area from above.

Seoul to Busan
Check out from your Seoul hotel this morning and head to the KTX station for the high-speed train down to Busan, which takes around 3 hours. Once you arrive, you'll go straight to Gamcheon Culture Village, a neighborhood built on steep hillsides with colorful houses and local art everywhere. Before sunset, stop at Haedong Yonggungsa, a temple right on the coast with ocean views you don't often see at Korean temples. Then settle into your Busan hotel for the evening.

Busan
Jagalchi Market is your first stop this morning, Korea's biggest seafood market where you can watch the daily auctions and grab fresh grilled seafood for lunch. After that, head to the Busan Skywalks for a different view of the city and sea. Yongdusan Park is worth an hour or so, especially if you take the elevator up Busan Tower for the observation deck. Later in the afternoon, walk along Haeundae Beach, one of the most popular beaches on the peninsula, and stick around into evening if the weather's nice.

Busan to Gyeongju
You're traveling inland to Gyeongju today, where you'll spend time at sites connected to the ancient Silla Kingdom. Bulguksa Temple is the main draw, a UNESCO site with impressive Buddhist architecture and sculptures. The Woljeonggyo Bridge is a graceful spot for photos and walking. The Daereungwon Tomb Complex has several important royal tombs you can see, including Cheonmachong which has been excavated and studied extensively. Finish up by walking through Yangdong Village, where Joseon-era houses are still standing and people actually live there, giving it a lived-in feel rather than a museum quality.

Gyeongju to Jeju
Your driver picks you up from your Busan hotel and takes you to Busan airport for your flight to Jeju. Once you land at Jeju airport, another driver is waiting to take you to your accommodation. It's a relaxed travel day with just transfers, so you'll have the evening to rest and prepare for Jeju.

- Day 8
Jeju
Starting at Mt. Halla 1100 Altitude Wetland means you're exploring a really specific ecosystem that exists partway up South Korea's tallest mountain. The wetland itself is quiet and different from what you'd typically see. From there, the Jusangjeolli Lava Cliffs show you the island's volcanic geology with those distinctive hexagonal rock columns. Cheonjeyeon Waterfalls has seven tiers and multiple pools, nice for photos and walking around. Later, head to Osulloc Green Tea Field where you can try fresh tea and get a sense of how tea farming works on the island.

Jeju
Get up early for the sunrise at Seongsan Ilchulbong, a UNESCO site with a volcanic crater that fills up with people at dawn. It's about a 20-minute walk to the top. After sunrise, Cape Seopjikoji is nearby with coastal views and fields of yellow canola flowers (seasonal). The Haenyeo statue there represents the island's traditional female divers. The Jeju Rail Bike is a different kind of activity, pedaling along old train tracks with coastal scenery. End at the Jeju Haenyeo Museum to learn about these diving women and their cultural significance to the island.
