Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Cappadocia
You'll pick up your rental car at the airport and drive to your hotel to get settled in. After the journey, take some time to rest and relax. If you've got energy in the evening, walk around the local area or check out what's available for entertainment. Consider heading to Nora Garden Cappadocia for dinner and trying their well-known Pottery Kebab.

Love Valley, Rose Valley, and Hot Air Balloon Flight
Start the morning with a walk through Love Valley to see the unique rock formations and stone pillars. From there, head to Rose Valley where the pink and red rocks create a nice glow at sunset. You'll come across ancient cave churches and monasteries that have early Christian paintings inside. Later in the day, you'll go on a hot air balloon flight over Göreme National Park as the sun rises, with golden and rosy light spreading across all the rock formations.

Fairy Chimneys, Ortahisar Castle, and Local Dinner
Start by checking out the Twin Fairy Chimneys and their unique rock formations from volcanic erosion. Next, head to Ortahisar Castle and climb to the top for views across all of Cappadocia. You'll walk through tunnels and cave rooms that used to be defensive strongholds. Finish up with dinner at Kapadokya Kebapzade for traditional Turkish kebabs and local dishes.

Underground Cities: Kaymakli and Derinkuyu
Today you're exploring underground passages and ancient history. Start at Kaymakli Underground City where you'll walk through passages, cave rooms, storage areas, and cave chapels with an interesting ventilation system. After that, continue to Derinkuyu Underground City, one of Cappadocia's largest underground cities that goes down about 60 meters deep. You'll see corridors, rooms, stables, and churches carved into the soft volcanic rock.

Departure
Your time in Cappadocia wraps up today. If you have some time before heading to the airport, you could stop in Kayseri, a historic town at the foot of the Erciyes volcano, and walk through the old center with Kayseri Castle and the local bazaar, or visit the Seljuk Museum. Then return your rental car at the airport and head home.
