Itinerary
- Day 1
Monrovia to Yekepa
You'll get picked up at Roberts International Airport and drive into Liberia's northeastern region. The route takes you through forests and rolling hills, and you'll stop for local roadside snacks along the way. By evening you'll reach Yekepa, a former mining town at the base of Mount Nimba, check into your eco-lodge, and meet your guide for a welcome dinner.

Mount Nimba Trek
After breakfast you'll head out with local rangers to trek Mount Nimba's slopes. The path goes through dense forest, grassy savannas, and rocky areas where you might see rare birds, butterflies, and pygmy hippos. You'll stop for lunch with views across Liberia, Guinea, and Côte d'Ivoire. Back at the lodge by late afternoon, you'll relax by a bonfire where elders may share folktales and traditional songs.

Cultural Immersion
This day you'll visit nearby Mano and Gio communities to learn about local culture. You'll try your hand at traditional weaving and pottery, then eat lunch with a host family. The day covers how storytelling, farming, and ancestral practices shape daily life. After that you'll check out the old Yekepa mining ruins to understand the region's history, then head back to your lodge for dinner.
