Itinerary
- Day 1
Oberstdorf
You'll arrive in Oberstdorf and have time to walk around this alpine town at your own pace. If you want higher views, take the cable car up to Nebelhorn where you can see across the surrounding mountains and valleys. The town itself has a nice feel with local shops and restaurants to check out before settling in for the night.

- Day 2
Oberstdorf to Steeg
After a short bus ride, you'll start hiking through the Sperrbachtobel Gorge, which has dramatic rock formations and narrows. From there, climb up to the Kemptner Hut. Later, you'll cross into Austria over the Mädelejoch Pass and descend through the Lech Valley. Before reaching Steeg, you'll walk across the suspension bridge at Holzgau where you can see Bavarian frescoes painted on nearby buildings. A final bus ride gets you to your destination for the night.

Steeg to St. Anton
Start with a bus ride to Kaisers, then hike on quieter alpine paths heading toward the Leutkircher Hut in the Lechtal Alps. After resting there, you'll descend toward the Arlberg area and follow the Camino route to St. Jakob. From there, a short bus takes you to St. Anton, which is known as the place where alpine skiing started. You can walk around town and get a feel for its skiing history.

- Day 4
St. Anton to Lech
Take the cable car up to Valluga peak which sits above 2,800 meters and gives you views across the surrounding alpine region. From there, hike the Arlberg Trail, which goes through steep mountain terrain and brings you to the Stuttgarter Hut at high elevation. After a break there, you'll take a gondola back down to Lech. This is a physically demanding day with significant elevation gain and some technical sections.

Lech to Warth
After the tough mountain days, this one is easier and follows the Lech Valley. You'll walk past alpine meadows and can see the Lech Gorge as you go. The route takes you through forest paths with gentle climbing up to Warth, a traditional Walser village. Later you'll have time to relax by a natural swimming lake or visit the highest dairy farm in Vorarlberg. This day lets you recover while still seeing different scenery.

Warth to Oberstdorf
You'll climb through different types of terrain until you reach an old customs hut where you cross back into Bavaria. Continue to the Mindelheimer Hut where you can get a substantial meal. After that, the route follows the Krumbacher Höhenweg with views of the Allgäu Alps and passes by Guggersee. Once you descend, a short bus ride returns you to Oberstdorf where you started. Spend your final evening relaxing and reflecting on the trip in this region.

Your trek ends today. You'll depart from Oberstdorf or can arrange to stay longer if you want to continue hiking in the area.
