Johannesburg to Kapama
After landing at O.R. Tambo International Airport, you'll meet your guide for the drive to Kapama Private Game Reserve. Once you've checked in and settled, head out on an afternoon safari in open vehicles across the 13,000 hectares of savannah looking for the Big Five. Dinner back at the lodge wraps up your first day.

Kapama
You'll start well before sunrise for a three-hour morning game drive in an open 4x4, with your ranger pointing out details about the bush while you search for wildlife. Stop for coffee at a scenic spot in the bush, then return for breakfast. The afternoon is yours to relax at the lodge before heading out again for another game drive later in the day.

Kapama to Hazyview
After an early morning game drive and breakfast, travel to Hazyview along the Panorama Route, passing through canyons and rugged mountain terrain. You'll see Three Rondavels with their distinctive rock formations, walk around Bourke's Luck Potholes carved by ancient water, and check out God's Window for its panoramic views if the weather cooperates. Check into your hotel in Hazyview.

Hazyview to Johannesburg
Following breakfast, head to Pretoria, the capital city known as the 'Jacaranda City' for its purple-flowering jacaranda trees (typically September through November). During a guided city tour, you'll visit the Union Buildings and Voortrekker Monument to explore the cultural heritage. From there, travel on to Johannesburg for your overnight stay.

Johannesburg to Knysna
After breakfast, you'll check out and transfer to O.R. Tambo International Airport for your domestic flight to George Airport. Once you arrive, your guide meets you for the transfer to Knysna, a seaside town on a protected lagoon known for oysters and nature reserves. The rest of the day is free to explore the town at your own pace.

Knysna
Start with breakfast at the hotel, then head to the Knysna Lagoon for the Featherbed Nature Reserve eco-experience, which you can only access by ferry. Explore the 150-hectare reserve by 4x4, visiting viewpoints on Knysna's Western Head and walking a two-kilometre coastal forest trail down to the coast. Lunch is served buffet-style under Milkwood trees before the ferry takes you back. Spend your evening at leisure at the Knysna Waterfront.

Knysna to Oudtshoorn
After breakfast, travel inland through scenic coastal villages like Sedgefield and Wilderness, with views of the Outeniqua Mountains. Pass through George, then climb the Outeniqua Pass, a 12-kilometre road built by Italian WWII prisoners. You'll enter the Little Karoo semi-arid region and reach Oudtshoorn, known as the ostrich capital. Visit Safari Ostrich Farm to see the birds, then have dinner there.

Oudtshoorn to Montagu
Rise early for a sunrise meerkat encounter on the African plains (weather dependent, around 2 to 3 hours). Return for breakfast, then head to Cango Caves in the Swartberg Mountains foothills, just 30 kilometres away. Explore the Great Hall and see stalagmites and stalactites on the 1.2-kilometre open section. Travel inland through Calitzdorp and Ladismith to Montagu, passing Towerkop mountain.

Montagu to Cape Town
Following breakfast, travel to Stellenbosch, South Africa's second oldest town and a lively university hub. At 2 pm, meet your local guide for a 3.5-hour walking tour focused on Cape cuisine through historic oak-lined streets. You'll taste indigenous teas, traditional snacks like biltong and droewors, have lunch at South Africa's oldest hotel, and try Cape desserts at Oom Samie se Winkel shop. Later, continue to Cape Town.

Drive the scenic Chapman's Peak through rural coastal villages to Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Visit Cape Point and its Old Lighthouse with False Bay views, then head to Boulders Beach to see African Penguins from boardwalks. Pass through Simonstown and other seaside towns before returning to Cape Town for your afternoon at leisure.

The main event is Table Mountain (weather permitting), where a rotating cable car takes you 1,086 metres up for 360-degree views of Cape Town, nearby peaks, the ocean, and inland landscape. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features unique fynbos vegetation.
