Itinerary
- Day 1
São Luís
You'll arrive in São Luís and get picked up by your agency representative for the ride to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to wander around town and see the colonial Portuguese buildings with their distinctive blue and white tiles that give the capital of Maranhão its character.

Barreirinhas
After a 4-hour minibus ride to Barreirinhas, you'll enter Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. From there, a 4x4 and ferry take you into the park before you hike to Lagoa dos Peixes and Lagoa Azul for swimming in the clear water. Later you'll climb a dune to watch the sun set over the white sand landscape, which really is unlike anywhere else.

River Delta Excursion
You'll spend about 4 hours on a motorboat heading along the Pregiças River through the delta. The route passes Caburé with its white sand headlands where fishing families have their homes, and then you'll climb the Mandacaru lighthouse to the eighth floor for views across the delta. After that comes the fishing village of Atins where the river meets the sea, then the boat returns you to Barreirinhas by evening.

Parnaíba
Leaving Lençóis Maranhenses in a 4x4, you'll head east through fields and dunes to Rio Novo river for a stop at a scenic oasis. Next is Porto das Barcas, a historic colonial trading center now filled with shops, bars and restaurants. Later you'll continue to Parnaíba, and there's an optional evening trip to watch Guará birds gathering at sunset along the river delta if you're interested.

Jericoacoara
A speedboat takes you along the Parnaíba Delta, stopping at Ilha Grande de Santa Izabel and the Igarapé dos Perequitos mangrove canal where you'll learn about the crabs in this region. You'll walk through mangrove areas looking for monkeys, alligators, iguanas and birds. Then by 4x4 and ferries, you'll cross white sand dunes to Jericoacoara, passing through Feijão Bravo where mangrove meets sea. Before evening, there's a visit to Torta lagoon and Funil dune, then you watch the sunset from Serrote dune overlooking this former fishing village.

- Day 6
Jericoacoara
An off-road 4x4 tour takes you to Paraíso and Coração lagoons with their fine white sand, coconut palms and turquoise waters. Back in Jericoacoara, you'll hike about 20 minutes to Pedra Furada, a distinctive rock formation with red and yellow tones that stand out against the blue sky and sea.

Fortaleza
Your final day has you traveling by 4x4 to Fortaleza, passing through small towns like Acaraú and Itarema with scenic beaches including Praia do Préá, Icaraí da Amontada and Mundaú. You'll take a ferry to Guajiru beach and continue through fishing settlements on paved road, arriving in Fortaleza around 7 pm. From there, an airport transfer ends your tour, though you can stay longer at the Gran Marquise Hotel on the beachfront if you want.
