Calgary
You'll arrive in Calgary and check into your hotel on your own. The rest of the day is yours to explore at whatever pace feels right. The Calgary Tower offers great views of the city and surrounding landscape, or if you prefer something more relaxed, you can walk along the Bow River pathway that cuts through downtown.

Calgary to Banff
A bus heads out through the rolling hills of Kananaskis, skirting the Rocky Mountains' foothills before entering Banff National Park. Once you arrive, you'll have free time to wander around the small town. Banff Avenue has shops and restaurants if you want to grab lunch or just walk around and get a feel for the place.

Icefields Parkway and Columbia Icefield
This is a full-day trip along the Icefields Parkway, one of the most scenic drives in the region. An Ice Explorer vehicle takes you directly onto the Athabasca Glacier so you can actually walk on it. After that, you'll head to the Glacier Skywalk, a glass platform that hangs out over Sunwapta Canyon and gives you views straight down into the gorge. You'll get back to Banff by late afternoon.

Lake Louise and Moraine Lake
You'll visit two of the Rockies' most recognizable lakes today: Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. A short walk along the lakeshore lets you see the Victoria Glacier and the Fairmont Lake Louise building framed against the mountains. By midday you'll head back to Banff, leaving the afternoon free to walk around town or grab a meal.

Banff to Kamloops via Rocky Mountaineer
You'll board the Rocky Mountaineer train today for the 'First Passage to the West' route heading west. The train travels over steep mountain passes and through dramatic tunnels, with views of endless lakeshores, forest, and farmland spreading out around you. The Spiral Tunnels, Kicking Horse Canyon, and Rogers Pass are highlights of the day. You'll pull into Kamloops in the evening.

Kamloops to Vancouver via Rocky Mountaineer
Day two on the Rocky Mountaineer takes you through constantly changing scenery. The landscape shifts from desert-like interior valleys to deep gorges and thick forests, and later the Coast and Cascade Mountains come into view. Hell's Gate in Fraser Canyon is particularly striking with its narrow channel and rushing water. The train arrives in Vancouver by evening.

Victoria and Butchart Gardens Full-Day Excursion
A full-day excursion starts with a ferry ride through the Gulf Islands to Victoria. You'll visit the Butchart Gardens, a large horticultural attraction with themed garden areas. After that comes a city tour of Victoria where you'll see the main sights of British Columbia's capital. You'll take the ferry back to Vancouver in the evening.
