Itinerary
- Day 1
Patscherkofel to Glungezer
You'll start by taking the cable car up from the valley station or hiking if you prefer. The route passes through Heiligwasser inn and reaches Patscherkofel Haus, then you'll follow the Zirbenweg trail across to Boscheben mountain hut. From there, the Glungezer-Höhensteig brings you to Glungezer Hütte. If you've got energy left, the climb to Sonnenspitze and Glungezer summit rewards you with views across roughly 500 peaks, crags and ridges stretching out in every direction.

Glungezer to Lizumer Hütte
This day follows the Tiroler Adlerweg ridge route heading south over the seven Tux summits, with the highest point sitting at 2,796 m. The walk along the ridge is mostly straightforward, though some sections need easy block ridge climbing (marked as black difficulty) and red trail options exist if you want to skip those parts. You'll descend into Lizum valley afterward and finish at Lizumer Hütte.

Lizumer Hütte to Weidener Hütten
You'll head out on Zentralalpenweg 02A from Lizumer Hütte, passing the Soldatenkirche church and walking through old Swiss stone pine forests. The trail climbs up to Grafennsjoch pass at 2,450 m, then drops down along the Weerbach stream past Grafennsalm through more of those ancient pine woods. Your destination is Weidener Hütten at 1,799 m.

Weidener Hütten to Rastkogel Hütte
Following Zentralalpenweg 02A downward, you'll head into the valley via Nafingbach stream and pass Nafingalm below Halslspitze. From there, hike to Nurpensjoch and then climb up to Rastkogel summit at 2,762 m using trail 318. You'll follow a green ridge that passes two small lakes, cross through Sidanjoch, and descend to Rastkogel hut at 2,124 m.

Rastkogel Hütte to Kellerjochhütte
Starting from Rastkogel hut, you'll head back to Sidanjoch with views down into Zillertal valley spread out below. Trail 316 takes you down to Pfundsalm-Mittelleger, then you'll follow Finsingbach stream to Hochfügen. The path climbs past Maschentalalm to Loassattel, and trail 316 continues to the 'Kuhmesser' viewpoint where Innsbruck and Zillertal come into view. A final descent below the summit gets you to Kellerjochhütte at 2,237 m.

Kellerjochhütte to Schwaz
A short side trip to Kellerjoch at 2,344 m lets you visit the chapel there and take in the Karwendel mountain views. You'll descend via Jägersteig trail down to Naunzalm, then follow the 'Alter Kellerjochweg' trail 312 to Hochpillberg. The Kellerjochbahn cable car brings you downhill, and then it's a straightforward walk down to Schwaz.
