Bangkok
Your private driver and guide will be waiting when you land in Thailand. After checking into your hotel, you'll have the day to walk around Bangkok at your own pace, checking out the historic streets with their architectural details and local markets. Come evening, head back to relax at your hotel.

Bangkok
Breakfast at the hotel gets you started, then you'll join a guided tour through Bangkok hitting three major temples. You'll see the Golden Buddha at Wat Traimit in Chinatown, the 45-meter reclining Buddha at Wat Po (which also has Thailand's traditional massage school), and the Grand Palace where the Emerald Buddha sits. The afternoon is free for your own exploration.

Bangkok to Chiang Rai
After breakfast, you'll fly to Chiang Rai and your driver meets you at the airport. You head straight to the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) to see its distinctive white architecture, then transfer to your hotel. Later in the evening, you can wander the local night bazaar or night market on your own.

Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai
Breakfast done, you'll drive to Sop Ruak in the Golden Triangle to see where the Mekong River borders Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand. The Hall of Opium museum comes next, giving you the region's history around the opium trade. After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll continue driving toward Chiang Mai.

Chiang Mai
This is a leisure day in Chiang Mai. You can rest at your hotel or book the optional half-day elephant sanctuary tour if you want. That tour takes you south through rolling hills to meet elephants, feed and bathe them, and have a traditional meal before getting back early afternoon.

Breakfast at the hotel, then you have free time until your transfer to Chiang Mai International Airport for your flight to Hanoi. Your driver will meet you at Noi Bai International Airport and bring you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to settle in and explore.

Hanoi
A guided group tour takes you through colonial Hanoi's French architecture, peaceful lakes, and temples. You'll get picked up around 7:45-8:15 am, then visit Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, his stilt house, the One Pillar Pagoda, and Tran Quoc Pagoda at West Lake. After lunch locally, you continue to the Ethnology Museum, the Literature Temple (Vietnam's first university from 1070), and end at Hoan Kiem Lake with the Ngoc Son Temple.

Hanoi to Halong Bay
After breakfast, the cruise crew picks you up for a scenic journey across the Red River Delta with its emerald rice paddies. You'll board your cruise in Halong Bay to see limestone rocks and karst grottoes. Seafood lunch happens on board, then you visit a famous limestone cave where you can kayak or swim near floating villages and shops. Back on the boat for early dinner and optional evening activities.

Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta
After breakfast, you'll head to the Mekong Delta with an English-speaking guide and driver. Travel to My Tho, then board a sampan around the Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise islands. You stop at Unicorn Island to walk country lanes, see orchards, and sample tropical fruits with folk music. A hand-rowed sampan takes you through Thoi Son canal, visiting family workshops and a honey-bee farm. Try honey tea and coconut candies, enjoy a traditional meal, and cycle around Tan Thach village or relax in a hammock.

You'll explore the tunnel network that once stretched to Cambodia, learning about the difficult living conditions and resilience of underground residents during wartime. You see meeting rooms, kitchens, and triage areas hidden from ground level. After the tour, try manioc (the main guerilla food) and optionally fire an AK47, MK16, or machine gun at the nearby shooting range.
