Itinerary
- Day 1
Fes to Merzouga
Your hotel pickup happens at 7 am, then you'll drive south through the Middle Atlas mountains with some great views along the way. The route takes you through Ifrane, which is a quiet mountain town worth seeing. From there, you'll stop near Azrou to spot Barbary apes if you're lucky, and continue climbing through mountain passes. By afternoon, you reach Rissani, which sits at the edge of the Sahara and marks the start of something different. After that, it's on to Erg Chebbi where the sand dunes take over. You'll check into your hotel, have some hot tea while settling in, then dinner comes with traditional Berber music playing.

Merzouga
This day gives you choices. After breakfast, you can walk through the Erg Chebbi dunes on your own or spend the morning relaxing by the hotel pool. If you want to do more, there's an option to visit nearby villages like Merzouga and Khamlia, though that costs extra and shows you local culture and music. Later in the afternoon or early evening, you head out on a camel trek into the desert. You'll spend the night at a traditional Berber camp, have an authentic Moroccan dinner, and enjoy Berber music under the stars with nothing but desert around you.

Merzouga to Fes
Get up early to watch sunrise paint the dunes, then take a camel ride back to the hotel and catch the light changing across the sand during breakfast. After eating, you'll start the drive back toward Fes, heading north through the Middle Atlas Mountains again. The scenery on this route back gives you time to think about everything you've seen over the past few days.
