Itinerary
- Day 1
Hanoi to Ninh Binh
Leave Hanoi early and drive to Ninh Binh province. Start by checking out Hoa Lu, the ancient capital, where you'll get some background on Vietnamese history. Around midday, grab a local buffet lunch before heading out on a 1.5-hour bamboo boat trip through Tam Coc, which winds through karst limestone formations and water. After that, you'll spend about 45 minutes biking around the village to see the local area. Later in the afternoon, hike up Mua Cave for views across the landscape, then head back to your hotel in Ninh Binh for the evening.

- Day 2
Cuc Phuong National Park and Return to Hanoi
After breakfast, head to the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre to learn about the conservation work happening there. Following lunch at a local restaurant, trek through Vietnam's oldest national forest to see the wildlife and plant life throughout the park. Before heading back to Hanoi in the late afternoon, walk through the Cave of Early Man at the park centre, which has archaeological significance. You'll arrive back in Hanoi by early evening.
