Itinerary
- Day 1
Keflavik to Selfoss
You'll arrive at Keflavik Airport and pick up your rental car, then drive out into Iceland's raw landscape. The drive to Selfoss takes you through terrain that feels completely untouched, with sparse vegetation and dramatic terrain on all sides. After settling in, you'll have time to rest before tomorrow's activities.

Golden Circle - Seljalandsfoss - Skogafoss - Vik
This day focuses on some of Iceland's most powerful water features and geothermal activity. You'll hike through Thingvellir where you can see the Öxarárfoss waterfall, then head to Haukadalur Valley to watch Strokkur geyser shoot water high into the air. From there, the thundering Gullfoss waterfall commands attention with its sheer force. Later, you'll see both Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, each with their own character and power.

- Day 3
Skaftafell - Jökulsárlón - Diamond Beach - Höfn
You're heading to Iceland's glacier regions today. The hike to Svartifoss waterfall in Skaftafell National Park gives you a taste of the ice-covered terrain. After that, Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon is where floating icebergs and seals create an otherworldly scene. You'll walk along Diamond Beach afterward, where black sand contrasts with chunks of clear ice that catch the light as you move along the shore.

- Day 4
Vestrahorn - East Fjords - Djúpivogur
Starting at Vestrahorn mountain on the Stokksnes peninsula, you'll see reflections of sharp peaks in the lagoon water below. Driving through the East Fjords takes you past dramatic mountain formations and rock faces that seem to jut straight from the earth. You'll stop in Djúpivogur, a fishing village with character, before continuing north through more fjord scenery.

Diamond Circle - Dettifoss - Námafjall - Lake Myvatn - Godafoss - Akureyri
The Diamond Circle route shows you Dettifoss, which ranks as Europe's most powerful waterfall by volume. At Námafjall, the volcanic landscape comes alive with bubbling mud pots and steam vents rising from the ground. Lake Mývatn and the Hverfjall volcanic crater follow, and then you'll see Godafoss before arriving in Akureyri by evening.

- Day 6
Öxnadalur - Skagafjördur - Grábrók - Hraunfossar - Barnafoss - Reykholt
You'll drive through Öxnadalur valley and Skagafjörður, the region where Icelandic horses have been bred for centuries. The extinct Grábrók crater is next on your route. After that, Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls showcase different styles of falling water before you reach Reykholt.

Akranes - Reykjavik
Heading back toward Reykjavik, you'll stop in Akranes to see old wooden houses and the distinctive lighthouses before driving to the capital. Once there, climb Hallgrímskirkja church for views across the whole city. The harbor area has colorful street art and modern architecture like the Harpa concert hall to explore.

- Visit Perlan Museum to walk through an ice cave and experience an aurora show (payable locally)

- Day 8
Keflavik
You'll return your rental car at Keflavik International Airport and head to your departure gate, wrapping up your time in Iceland.
