Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival at Tokyo

    You'll land at Haneda International Airport and work through immigration and customs. If you booked the transfer service, someone from the company will be waiting at the exit with a sign. Otherwise, you can catch the train or airport bus into the city. After that, the rest of your first day is yours to settle into your hotel and get oriented.

  2. Day 2

    Tokyo

    Today is completely open for you to explore Tokyo however you'd like. Walk around neighborhoods, check out museums, grab food from local spots, or just wander. If you want to join a guided tour instead, optional excursions are offered for an extra fee.

  3. Day 3

    Tokyo

    Another free day in Tokyo to do things at your own pace. You might visit the temples, check out the shopping districts, try different restaurants, or explore whatever interests you. Guided excursions are available if you'd prefer that instead.

  4. Day 4

    Tokyo to Mt. Fuji to Kawaguchiko

    After breakfast, head to Shinjuku Center Building where your bus departs at 8:30am. You'll spend about 40 minutes at Mt. Fuji's 5th Station taking in the views. Lunch happens at Fuji-Q Highland with vegetarian dishes available if needed. By 2:00pm you'll be at Kawaguchi Ko Lakeside Hotel Regina near the lake. Evening is free to relax or walk around.

  5. Day 5

    Kawaguchiko to Takayama

    After breakfast, you have time until 1:30pm to do what you'd like. Then at 2:00pm the bus heads toward Takayama. Around 4:00pm you'll stop at Lake Suwa observatory for about 20 minutes. Rolling into Takayama Station around 7:15pm, with your hotel just a short walk away. Evening is open for you to check out the town.

  6. Day 6

    Takayama to Shirakawa-go to Kanazawa to Kyoto

    Start early visiting Takayama's riverside morning market and Hida Kokubun-ji Temple. At 9:25am the group departs toward Kyoto. Along the way you'll stop at Shirakawa-go, a UNESCO World Heritage village. Next is Kenrokuen Garden where you'll have lunch and try soba at Soba no Sato while picking up local crafts. If weather cooperates, there's a stop to see Lake Biwa. You'll reach Kyoto around 6:20pm and check into a hotel within easy walking distance of the station.

  7. Day 7

    Kyoto

    Your day in Kyoto is yours to plan. Explore the temples, walk through the geisha district, check out the gardens, or spend time finding good restaurants. If you prefer organized activities, paid excursions are available.

  8. Day 8

    Kyoto to Osaka

    After breakfast, check out and leave your bags in the hotel lobby. Meet your tour assistant at Kyoto Station for a guided day trip to Fushimi Inari Taisha and Kikyomizedera (note that entrance fees are separate). Once the excursion ends and you're back at Kyoto Station, grab your luggage from the hotel and then take the JR train to Osaka.

    Osaka to Airport

    Time to head out. Check out of your hotel and make your way to Osaka Station, which is just a short walk away. From there, take the JR train directly to the airport for your departure, arriving in just under an hour.

    Our tour guide was nice but apparently there was no communication between him and the people doing the planning. he did not know which hotel we were staying at (I had to tell him) and he did not know we were doing the elephants the next day. however he was very nice. There just needs to be better inter-office communication

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 35 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
    • Some departure dates and prices may vary and Asia travel and Estate will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
