Itinerary
- Day 1
Ferrol
You'll arrive in Ferrol on your own, a maritime city with modern architecture and a food scene that's worth checking out. Once you get settled into your accommodation, spend some time walking around the city to get oriented. It's a good opportunity to grab a meal and see what the place is like before starting the walking stages tomorrow.
Landmarks Ferrol - Day 2
Ferrol to Neda
Your first walking stage is short and flat, which is nice for easing into things. The route runs mostly through urban areas alongside the estuary, so you'll have straightforward walking without major climbs or tricky sections to worry about. By the end of the day you'll have your legs warmed up and a feel for the terrain ahead.
Included Activities
- Walking stage through urban areas parallel to the estuary
Landmarks Ferrol Estuary - Day 3
Neda to Miño
Today you'll walk from Fene toward Pontedeume, passing through As Fragas do Eume, an Atlantic forest with real ecological value. The terrain includes some low hills and runs near main roads as you transition from the Ferrol estuary to the Ares estuary. It's a longer day with more to see compared to yesterday, but still manageable.

This is a shorter stage overall, though you'll encounter a moderately challenging climb from Ponte do Porco up to Montecelo. Landmarks Betanzos - Day 5
Betanzos to Mesón do Vento
Today is your toughest day on the trail. You'll leave the towns behind and spend several kilometers walking through forests and nature with steep terrain to cross. Small villages appear along the way, but services are sparse in this section, so plan accordingly. The physical challenge today is real, but it's the most remote and natural part of the journey.
Included Activities
- Walking stage through nature, forests and steep terrain
- Day 6
Mesón do Vento to Santiago de Compostela
After yesterday's difficulty, today feels much easier. The route is relatively flat and straightforward, mixing asphalt and dirt roads as you make your final approach to Santiago. By afternoon you'll notice the terrain getting progressively gentler, giving your legs a break before the final stage.
Included Activities
- Walking stage on asphalt and dirt roads
- Day 7
Santiago de Compostela
The final stage to the cathedral is here. You'll notice significantly more pilgrims on the trail as everyone converges toward Santiago. The walk takes you through an industrial area first, which isn't the most scenic part, but then you enter the historic center and those cathedral towers come into view. That moment makes the whole journey click into place.
Included Activities
- Walking stage to Santiago de Compostela Cathedral
- Arrival in historic center of Santiago de Compostela
Landmarks Santiago de Compostela Cathedral - Day 8
