Itinerary
- Day 1
Sofia
You'll arrive at Sofia International Airport and transfer to your hotel. From there, the rest of the day is yours to explore the city at your own pace. Walk through the city centre and stop by St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral, St. George Rotonda, and the Russian church St. Nikolay. Later, grab coffee on the pedestrian street Vitoshka to get a feel for local life and watch people go by.

Rila Monastery - Boyana Church
After breakfast, head to the meeting point at 09:00 behind Alexander Nevski Cathedral for your included sightseeing tour. You'll visit Rila Monastery, a UNESCO site with impressive arcaded balconies and frescoes, and have around an hour to walk through the main church and museum. Then you'll return to Sofia to see Boyana Church, another UNESCO Monument, which has frescoes that art historians consider predecessors of the European Renaissance.

Sofia
After breakfast, you have options for how to spend your day in Sofia. Check out the National History Museum, which holds over 650,000 artifacts, or the National Museum of Bulgarian Fine Art. The National Ethnographic Museum is housed in the former Royal Palace and worth a visit. If you prefer something different, the Earth and Man National Museum displays precious stones and minerals. Alternatively, there's an optional shared tour to Plovdiv, Bulgaria's second-largest city and one of Europe's oldest continuously inhabited places.

After breakfast, you'll check out from your hotel and get transferred by private transfer to Sofia International Airport for your return flight home.
