Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your guide meets you in the morning before heading out on roughly a 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. With the roof open for viewing, you'll see large elephant herds roaming northern Tanzania, along with giraffes, buffaloes, lions, zebras, wildebeests, antelopes and gazelles across seasonal marshes and savannah dotted with baobabs. You'll reach Maramboi Tented Lodge by afternoon, where there's time to watch the sunset and sit by the campfire as the day winds down.

    Included Activities

    • Game drive in Tarangire National Park with roof-open safari vehicle
    • Wildlife viewing (elephant herds, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, zebras, wildebeests, antelopes, gazelles)
    Landmarks
    Tarangire National Park
  2. Day 2

    Tarangire National Park to Ngorongoro

After breakfast, another game drive takes you back into Tarangire National Park. During dry season months (June through October), animals gather around the Tarangire River since it's the only permanent water source in the area. You'll stop at a picnic spot for lunch, then leave the park and pass through Mto wa Mbu, a multicultural town, before climbing to higher lands with views across the Masai Plains and Lake Manyara. After a photo stop, you'll head into the crater highlands where Ngorongoro Farm House sits within a coffee plantation surrounded by gardens.

  3. Day 3

    Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti

Today you drive into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into Ngorongoro Crater, where grass steppes and acacia forests hold nearly all the savannah species found across East Africa. Extensive game viewing gives you chances to spot the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, leopard). After a picnic lunch in the crater, you'll leave the highlands in the afternoon and head toward the Serengeti. By evening you'll reach Seronera Valley in central Serengeti and settle in at Serengeti Tortilis Tented Camp for the next three nights.

The trip to Selous and Mikumi was well organized and flowed smoothly like clockwork. Nothing proved to be a problem as they had planned for everything; transport, accommodation, permits, activities down to the last detail. We enjoyed the game drives in with our guide Bamasai. He knew his way around the parks such that we moved from one great spot to the next. He answered our questions satisfactorily and he gave us the chance to enjoy the experience. To be honest these parks had little human traffic and are really well preserved. I loved it 100%

Our tour to Selous is unforgettable. Every aspect of the tour was well organized and it flowed seamless like clockwork. Our guide Kibatali made the trip an epic adventure, finding wild animals at every turn. Selous is really beautiful and unlike anything that I have seen or visited. The place is not crowded and we got to see the animals without any disturbance. Every day was beautiful and took us to a different spot where we would experience different attractions. The food and the lodgings were top class. I cannot get over the beautiful memories and only wish that it would have been a longer vacation.

This trip to Africa's largest reserve was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Rama had done a perfect job organizing the logistics and our guide Otto was perfect in the execution. He took us to all hot spots in the park where we found lots of different species, beautiful landscapes and incredible biosphere whose beauty surpasses all I have ever seen..... game drives, boat safaris, fishing........ The mix of camping and luxury accommodations was a great way to experience the park and Tanzania. This is a trip that I recommend to all.
