Chihuahua City
You'll land at Chihuahua City Airport where a van driver meets you for the drive to your hotel. The city itself is the capital of Mexico's largest state, known for its museums, art galleries, and revolutionary history. After checking in, you'll have the rest of the day to settle in.

Chihuahua City to Creel to Divisadero
Breakfast happens at your hotel before you head out at 8 am toward Copper Canyon through the Chihuahuan Desert. The route takes you through Cuauhtémoc, a Mennonite community where you can see how they live and work. From there it's on to Creel, a town with its own character. You'll walk around the main plaza, check out Arareko Lake and the rock formations that make the area distinctive, then visit the historic San Ignacio Jesuit Mission. By evening you're at Mirador Hotel, which sits right on the canyon rim with views that don't quit.

- Day 3
Divisadero (Copper Canyon)
After breakfast at Hotel Mirador, you'll spend your day around the Tarahumara people and canyon views. The Divisadero Overlook gives you perspective on the sheer scale of Copper Canyon, then you head to Barrancas del Cobre Adventure Park in Sierra Tarahumara. The park has the world's third-longest cable car, plus hiking, biking, horseback riding, zip lines, hanging bridges, and rock climbing. There's something here regardless of your fitness level or age.

- Day 4
Divisadero to Cerocahui
You'll check out of Hotel Mirador after breakfast and drive about an hour toward Cerocahui in the afternoon. The landscape is green and spectacular along the way. Once there, check into Hotel Mision and relax in the Spanish courtyard while looking at the gold dome of the mission church from 1556. Before dinner, there's an optional wine tasting with Balderrama wines if that interests you.

Landmarks/POIs Cerocahui Mission Church (1556) - Day 5
Cerocahui
Start with breakfast at Hotel Mision then head to the Urique Overlook, which is both the deepest and widest canyon viewpoint you'll see on this trip. The afternoon is yours to spend however you want. Walk through the village to the cemetery or lumberyard, visit the churchyard, or check out the Tarahumara boarding school next to the hotel. If you're more active, there's a 4-mile roundtrip walk to Cerocahui waterfall. Wine tasting with Balderrama wines is optional before dinner.

Cerocahui to El Fuerte via El Chepe Train
Today you board El Chepe train for the scenic ride through the Sierra Madre Mountains. You start over 5,000 feet high and descend toward sea level, passing through 86 tunnels and crossing 39 bridges on this engineering accomplishment. The train leaves Bahuichivo at 11:25 am and arrives in El Fuerte at 2:35 pm. After that you have time to walk around the historic colonial town, and there's a show at your hotel this evening.
