  1. Day 1

    Los Mochis to El Fuerte

    Your airport transfer takes you from Los Mochis to El Fuerte, a Magical Town nestled in Sinaloa. After checking in at Posada Hidalgo, a restored hacienda with tropical gardens and a pool, you'll have the rest of the day to yourself. Wander around town, check out the Mayo Indian Museum, or take a river float cruise if you're interested in getting out on the water.

  2. Day 2

    El Fuerte to Cerocahui via Chepe Train

    Grab breakfast at Posada Hidalgo, then head to El Fuerte Train Station for the famous 4.5-hour Chihuahua al Pacífico train ride through Copper Canyon. You'll climb from sea level to over 5,500 feet/1,676 meters, passing through 87 tunnels and over 39 bridges as you cross the Sierra Madre Mountains. When you reach Bahuichivo, a 25-minute van ride takes you to Cerocahui in a scenic valley, where you'll stay at Hotel Mision and see the gold dome of the 1556 mission church.

  3. Day 3

    Cerocahui

    After breakfast at Hotel Mision, join an 8:00am tour that runs until 11:00am heading to the deepest canyon overlook with expansive views of the entire canyon system. Back at the hotel by lunchtime, you can then explore the churchyard, wander the village, visit the cemetery, or head next door to see the Tarahumara boarding school. If you're up for it, there's an optional 4-mile roundtrip walk to the Cerocahui waterfall.

    Cerocahui to Divisadero (Copper Canyon)

    You'll have breakfast at Hotel Mision, then check out at 11:30am for a one-hour van ride to Divisadero at the canyon rim. By 12:30pm you're at the Mirador Hotel, positioned right on the edge with views of three canyons: Urique, Tararecua, and Cobre. Spend your afternoon relaxing and taking in the views from your balcony.

  5. Day 5

    Divisadero

    After breakfast at Hotel Mirador, head out to the Divisadero Overlook and Barrancas del Cobre Adventure Park in the heart of the Sierra Tarahumara. You can experience the world's third longest cable car line, hike, bike, or ride horseback through the scenery. If you're looking for more action, there's zip-lining, hanging bridges, and rock climbing available, with options suitable for all ability levels.

    Divisadero to El Fuerte via Chepe Train

    Eat breakfast at Hotel Mirador, check out, and head to Divisadero Train Station at 09:00am for the Chepe Express return journey. The ride takes over 5 hours as you descend from over 7,000 feet/2,134 meters back down to sea level through the Sierra Madre Mountains, passing through some incredibly dramatic scenery. When you reach El Fuerte Train Station, a transfer brings you back to Posada Hidalgo for a relaxed evening.
