- Day 1
Villach
You'll arrive in Villach and get settled into your accommodation. This charming town sits right in the heart of Carinthia, surrounded by crystal-clear lakes and thermal springs. Take the afternoon to relax, walk around the area a bit, and get your bearings before the cycling starts tomorrow.

- Day 2
Villach to Klagenfurt
Cycle east along the Drau cycle path through traditional Carinthian farmland, heading toward Velden on Lake Wörthersee. You'll pass through the Keutschach lake valley with its four beautiful lakes and turquoise waters. After that, follow the Lendkanal into Klagenfurt, the capital of Carinthia. The total distance is about 50 km, so plan for a full day in the saddle with time for lunch breaks along the way.

- Day 3
Klagenfurt to Lake Klopeiner See
Start the day cycling through Klagenfurt's old town, wandering past winding alleyways, arcaded courtyards, and Renaissance buildings. From there, head along the Glan through gentle hills and forests until you reach the Drau, then follow the well-maintained cycle path toward Lake Klopeiner See. This is the warmest bathing lake in the country, with woodlands and the Karawanken mountains surrounding it. If you'd like to cool off, take a swim. The ride is about 35 km total.

- Day 4
Lake Klopeiner See to Hochosterwitz
Cycle from Lake Klopeiner See to the Völkermarkt reservoir, then along the Drau banks before crossing the river one final time. Follow the Glan-Gurk cycle path past Völkermarkt, an old ducal town, and through typical Carinthian villages toward Hochosterwitz Castle. This fortress sits atop a 150-meter limestone rock that rises steeply from the fields. The area has other castles and palaces from when St. Veit was the provincial capital. Expect about 50 km of riding.

St. Veit to Villach
Cycle through St. Veit, the former provincial capital, where you'll see a well-preserved medieval main square, town walls, Renaissance houses, and the ducal castle. Head westward along the Glan to Glanegg, passing the impressive ruins of Glanegg Castle that overlook the valley. Continue through Feldkirchen to Lake Ossiach for a short break, then cycle back to Villach where you started. This final stretch covers about 55 km.
