Itinerary
- Day 1
Mumbai
A GT India Tours representative will meet you at Mumbai airport and take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to do as you please, whether that's settling in, grabbing a meal, or walking around the neighborhood to get your bearings.

Mumbai
After breakfast, you'll join a guided tour covering Mumbai's main attractions. The itinerary includes the Gateway of India, Prince of Wales Museum, Hanging Gardens, and Marine Drive along with various temples, memorials, and gardens throughout the day. Your evening is free to explore on your own or rest at the hotel.

Mumbai to Chennai
You'll have breakfast at the hotel before checking out and heading to Mumbai airport for your flight to Chennai. Once you land, another GT India Tours representative meets you and transfers you to your Chennai hotel where you can settle in.

Chennai
Starting with breakfast at your hotel, you'll head out on a full day guided tour of Chennai. The tour takes in Marina Beach, ancient temples, historic forts, churches, museums, and parks, including stops at a zoological park and planetarium covering most of the city's major landmarks.

Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram
After breakfast and checkout, the drive to Mahabalipuram takes about 3.5 hours (140 km). En route, you'll stop in Kanchipuram to visit several temples like Kamakshi Amman Temple. Once in Mahabalipuram, you'll check in and then explore the Shore Temple, Pancha Pandava Rathas, Arjuna's Penance, caves, and Krishna's Butterball.

- Day 6
Mahabalipuram to Kumbakonam
Starting early with breakfast and checkout, you'll drive to Kumbakonam, a journey of about 4.5 hours (230 km). Along the way, you'll revisit some of Mahabalipuram's key sites including Shore Temple, Pancha Pandava Rathas, Arjuna's Penance, caves, and Krishna's Butterball before continuing on. After checking in, the afternoon and evening are at your leisure.

Kumbakonam - Darasuram - Thanjavur - Trichy
After breakfast and checkout, you'll drive to Trichy (about 2.5 hours, 100 km). En route, you'll stop at Airavatesvara Temple in Darasuram to see excellent examples of Chola architecture, then visit the grand Brihadeeswara Temple in Thanjavur, one of South India's most impressive temples. You'll arrive in Trichy and check in by late afternoon.

- Day 8
Trichy - Chettinad - Madurai
After breakfast and checkout, the drive to Madurai takes roughly 3.5 hours (171 km). You'll pass through Chettinad and see its historic mansions along the way. Once in Madurai, after checking in and freshening up, you'll explore the massive Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple complex, Thirupparamkunram temple, Palamuthirsolai Murugan Temples, Thirumalai Nayak Palace, Alagar Kovil, and Gandhi Museum.

Madurai to Periyar
After breakfast and checkout, you'll drive to Periyar (about 3.5 hours, 150 km). Periyar sits in the heart of one of India's largest wildlife sanctuaries and tiger reserves covering 777 square kilometers. After checking into your hotel, you'll have the rest of the day free to relax or explore the area at your own pace.

- Day 10
Periyar
After breakfast, you'll spend the full day exploring Periyar's wildlife sanctuary. The day includes activities like bamboo rafting and border hiking, followed by an elephant safari through the sanctuary. You'll also visit Kumily, Mangala, and Devi Temple, giving you a good sense of the region's natural and cultural highlights.

Periyar to Alleppey
After breakfast and checkout, you'll drive to Alleppey (about 3.5 hours, 128 km) to start your backwater houseboat experience. Once you check in to your houseboat, you'll begin cruising through scenic backwaters and lagoons with lunch and dinner served on board. Later in the evening, you can take a walk through Alleppey's local streets.

After breakfast and checkout, the drive to Cochin is short, just about an hour (60 km). You'll check in, refresh, then join a half day guided tour visiting Fort Kochi, Marine Drive, museums, historic churches, and islands. The remainder of the day is free for your own activities or exploring at a slower pace.
