Villach
You'll arrive at your hotel in Villach and get checked in. Parking is right near the hotel, so that's convenient. The service team will be there to answer any questions and hand out your bikes, so take time to get familiar with everything before heading out.

Villach to Lake Millstätter See
Start cycling from Villach toward Lake Ossiach. You'll see Landskron Castle ruins rising above the landscape, and Ossiach Abbey comes into view as well. Ride around Lake Ossiach, then move through Gegendtal valley past Afritzer See and Brennsee before reaching Lake Millstätter See. Cycle along the eastern shore to finish your day.

Lake Millstätter See to Weissensee
From Lake Millstätter See, you're heading toward Lake Weissensee. Two routes work here. Take the car-free Drau cycle path upstream with smaller paths to the western shore, or go east via Spittal an der Drau and use a boat to cross to the western shore (you'll need your own ticket). After Weissensee, tackle the Kreuzberg Pass climb and descend through Gitschtal valley.

Weissensee to Lake Wörthersee
Ride along the Gailtal cycle path through quiet countryside beside the Gail river. You'll pass Lake Pressegger See, which is warm enough for swimming. Continue through a nature reserve near Villach at Dobratsch mountain's base, then reach Lake Faak with its turquoise water. Finish with a short ride on the Drau cycle path to Lake Wörthersee.

Lake Wörthersee to Klagenfurt
Cycle through Keutschacher Seental valley where small lakes dot your route. Head south toward Klagenfurt, passing Maria Rain pilgrimage church, then drop down to the Drau cycle path. Reach Lake Klopeiner See, one of Europe's warmest lakes. Cycle back via Völkermarkt reservoir and a railroad path into Klagenfurt, where you can walk the Renaissance old town, check out shops and bars, or visit the Museum of Modern Art or Carinthia Museum.

Klagenfurt to Central Carinthia
Head north into Central Carinthia, a region with lots of castles and historical sites. You'll pass Maria Saal Cathedral and Hochosterwitz Castle, which has 14 fortifications. Cycle past Länsee lake and Taggenbrunn Castle ruins surrounded by vineyards. Reach St. Veit/Glan, Carinthia's old capital, where defensive walls and a main square are worth seeing. Follow the River Glan south past Lake Maltschach, then return to Klagenfurt along Lake Wörthersee.

Lake Wörthersee to Villach
Cycle the northern shore of Lake Wörthersee through popular seaside resorts at Pörtschach and Velden. Stop at small bathing spots along the way for a swim if you'd like. From Velden, head back on the Drau cycle path, passing Silbersee lake, and return to Villach where your cycle tour finishes.
