Departure to Baku
Your flight heads to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan sitting on the Caspian Sea. You'll arrive at the gateway to this fascinating region, ready to start exploring the country.

Baku Old Town
After transferring to your hotel, you'll walk through the UNESCO-listed Old Town, checking out narrow alleyways and historic houses with medieval architecture. The afternoon is yours to wander around on your own and get a feel for the city.

Gobustan & Apsheron
You'll head to Gobustan Nature Reserve to see Stone Age rock paintings and ancient cave dwellings from UNESCO sites. Then it's off to the Zoroastrian fire temple in Apsheron, which ties into Azerbaijan's reputation as the 'land of fire'. By evening, you'll have dinner at a traditional restaurant back in Baku.

Sheki
Travel takes you to Sheki, known as Azerbaijan's 'favorite city' set in mountains and forests. You'll visit the Khan Palace, check out a local woodcarving workshop, and see an 18th-century caravanserai. Later, you'll sit down for tea and homemade jams and sweets with a local family.

Sheki to Kakheti Region, Georgia
Crossing into Georgia, your Georgian tour guide will meet you at the border. You'll stop at a winery in Kvareli to learn about Georgian wine traditions and taste wines with lunch. After a tour of Telavi's historical center, you'll head to your hotel in the Kakheti region.

Kakheti Wine Region to Tbilisi
Start with the Tsinandali house museum of aristocratic poet Alexander Chavchavadze and try Tsinandali wine. You'll walk through St. Nino Monastery in Bodbe, which is known for its miraculous spring. Then head to Sighnaghi, the 'city of love', where you'll learn about its romantic past and take in views over the Alazani meadow toward the mountains.

Tbilisi City Tours
Tbilisi awaits, a city founded in the 5th century by King Vakhtang Gorgassali. You'll tour the old town to see Metechi Church, the Peace Bridge, and the famous sulfur baths. A cable car ride takes you up to Narikala Fortress for views over the old town and river. Later, you'll see modern Tbilisi during a separate city tour.

Tbilisi to Kasbegi
Heading north toward high mountains, you'll stop at the 17th-century Ananuri Fortress overlooking the Jinvali reservoir. The drive continues through forested mountains to Kasbegi in the high Caucasus, where you'll spend 3 nights with impressive mountain views.

Juta Mountain Village & Chaukhi Lake Hike
An off-road vehicle takes you to the mountain village of Juta at around 2,200 meters elevation. You'll hike through mountain scenery to Chaukhi Lake (moderately difficult, about 8 km, roughly 3.5 hours, with 450 meters altitude gain). If hiking isn't for you, stop at a small mountain camp café instead. Horseback rides are also available. Dinner happens with a local family.

Trinity Church & Kasbek Mountain
An off-road vehicle takes you to Trinity Church, standing alone before the massive glacier slopes of Mount Kasbek over 5,047 meters high. After the church, you have time to hike back (about 2 to 3 hours) or relax at your hotel. Around noon, you'll have Georgian specialty Khachapuri with coffee.

Kasbegi to Tbilisi via Mtskheta
You'll travel to Mtskheta, Georgia's ancient capital, to see Dzhvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Church, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The monastery has great views of the city. Then head to Chateau Muchrani, a striking princely castle with scenic views that houses a popular winery. A wine tasting happens before you return to Tbilisi.

The village of Garni has Armenia's only preserved sun temple to see. You'll try traditional Armenian bread-baking with a family and eat fresh Lavash straight from the oven with cheese and herbs. Next comes the Armenian cognac factory with a tasting. The evening is free, though a concert at the State Opera House is available if you're interested.
